TRUE STORY, SWEAR TO GOD MOVES TO IMAGE

True Story, Swear to God creator posted the following on the Jinxworld messageboards:

TRUE STORY, SWEAR TO GOD #17 will be my last issue under my label "Clib's Boy Comics" and THAT'S because:

WE'RE MOVING TO IMAGE!!

Yep, I'll be signing the contract next week and TSSTG will bear the symbol of the mighty "I" in the corner of the cover. This is a very huge deal to me, personally, because it eliminates things like production costs, shipping, storage, etc... and allows me to just focus on making the books.

Image also gives me a spot in the front of previews, which is great for sales, since I'm buried in the middle of that huge thing.

And most of all... it's really a cool group of people at Image. I got to meet everyone there at Wondercon in San Francisco last month and they're all great. In fact, I've been told on more than one occassion that I have an uncanny resemblence to Art Adams. That was reinforced when Mike Allred spun me around and tried to give me a huge man-hug at the con. He yelled out a "DUUUUUDE" before stopping, holding his arms out for about a minute before I said "I'm not Art." It was hilarious. I've even been asked to sign a few copies of Fantastic Four from fans who thought I was him.

SooooOOOooooo anyhoo... look for TSSTG #1 by Image in August. Believe it or not, I'm going to attempt to go monthly on this series and hopefully, you'll all dig it. It's really an amazing feeling to know that a company as big as Image would have an interest in my own work and I'm looking forward to being part of the I-Team!!

More info to come!!

True Story Swear To God is a great book and really deserves the wider exposure that moving to Image can bring.

I was in a store a few months ago and asked if they had any and they had never heard of it. Popping back in a few weeks later, they said "Oh, hey, I saw that True Story book you were looking for is finally coming out..."

I look forward to what this new outlet brings.

Congrats.

I hope that this move will let many more readers discover True Stories Swear to God. That series is well worth discovering. Also it is one of the titles which could be used to get females interested in comics. I loved the series from its beginning. The fact that I myself have become part of a long distance relationship of course raised my appreciation of the title even more. It really depicts many of the problems (but also joys) of such a relationship.

Actually I wanted to give the first 2 tradepaperbacks of True Story as a birthday gift to my (now) fiancee in a few months. How will the move to Image affect the avaibility of the trades? Will they still be avaible through the original publisher or through Image? Are there any plans to collect the first 2 trades into a hardcover by Image?

This book is absolutley wonderful. Sweet, funny, heartbraking and always entertaining (a rarity in comics). I hope it finds a larger audience through Image, as it is terribly deserved. Congratulations to Tom, he makes a great book that can only benefit from what Image has to offer. They are putting out the most exciting books on the shelves today and TSSTG will only enhance their catalog.

Make Mine Image!!!

This is awesome news, both the move to Image, and the attempt at a monthly book.

I'm gonna pimp this book like there's no tomorrow.

Awesome!

Fantastic news!

As I've been saying since September of 2003, Image is the HBO of comics, and here's another reason why.

Quality, diversity, and a cool logo.

Thanks, everyone... this really means a lot to me.

For the record, some stores haven't received TSSTG #16 and that's because of a screwup on my part. This issue had TWO solicitations from Previews and I thought all the orders were put together onto ONE purchase order.

Nope. They weren't.

So, I just received the total orders of what was left out and THOSE books will be shipping I believe next week. Very sorry about this... which is why I'm glad to be making the move. lol.
