THE PULSE HOUSE OF M SPECIAL EDITION

So, what is this The Pulse: House of M Special Edition all about anyway?

For one, as Joe Quesada pointed out at his San Diego Cup o Joe panel, it no longer features the King of Spain’s twin brother on the cover (although fromt he looks of it, that might be Harvey Keitel).

For two, it’s a $0.50 newspaper – from the Marvel Universe…really (we add with a wink).

The solicitation for the special reads:

EXTRA, EXTRA—READ ALL ABOUT IT!!!

You’re in the world of the HOUSE OF M. Super heroes battle over your head, the flag of M waves over you—oppressing you, and the world falls apart around you. When you need to know what’s happening, who’s doing it, and where you’ll need to hide, you can count on only one source—THE PULSE!

THE PULSE: HOUSE OF M SPECIAL EDITION is the ACTUAL newspaper from the HOUSE OF M! Your best source for late-breaking-survival! Packed to the gills with House of M secrets you can't get anywhere else. Contains exclusive art and text.

12 PGS./T+ SUGGESTED FOR TEENS AND UP …$.50

Still scratching the noggin? Marvel has provided Newsarama with a look inside of the special that his stories today.

Click here for a look inside.

Re: THE PULSE HOUSE OF M SPECIAL EDITION

The Blurry Hulk photo was clever.

All in all, this reminds me of those earily 90's MARVEL year in Review magazines, designed to look like a TIME magazine as made in the Marvel U., complete with fake adds and TONS of original art.

I really loved those. Wish they'd come back.

I've just relized that all the stories will be plugs for the various tie ins.

Eh

Nice looking hype-pub is what this looks like to me. Is there going to be anything of exclusive value to this? Will we learn something new - or something critical to the outcome of HOM - or is this just a glitzy product to promote HOM in general?

I think it was very creative to have 'the pulse' section of the Daily Bugle be an actual newspaper.

What a clever idea. I am not reading all of the house of m tie-ins, so this 50 cent 'newspaper' will be a cheap way of finding out what is going down in the other titles, and who knows, it might pique my interest in a tie in or mini that I hadn't planned on getting initially.

Nice job.

This reminds me of the Daily Planet newspaper DC did to promote Invasion, back in the day. I always thought that was cool. For $.50, I'll check it out. I wish there was more stuff like this.

Actually, as a mutant, I find the House of M world quite uplifting. Three cheers for Magneto!

Does anybody else see the facial resemblance between Magneto and Paul O'Brien (of X-Axis)?

Magneto could be an older version of Paul O'Brien

Really Modok? Didn't think you were a mutant, more of a mutated human.

ANyway, since House of M might very well be the first Marvel Xover I will end up passing on (unless reviews pick up and I end up buying the trade) I decided to take that 50 cents and treat myself to a candy bar. Seemed like a better idea to me!

I was thinking more like John Slattery (Peter Benedict on WB's Jack & Bobby)

So we go from the King of Spain to a mix of Paul O'Brien, John Slattery and Sam Neil?

Yeah, Christopher Lambert meets Thomas Jane meets John Slattery.

Oh, yeah, and Sam Jackson, too. Why not?

EDIT: Isn't this how DC came up with the character of Magog?

Wrong villain. Sam Neill was the basis for Max Lord:

I'd say it's closer to James Caan (VEGAS) or Paul Newman..
