I was just looking at Xaraan's sig.

They need to make a Metal Gear comic book drawn by the guy that did those designs. I have a strategy guide for Metal Gear Solid for PS1 that had a bunch of Metal Gear designs by that guy, and they look totally badass. I've wanted them to do that comic ever since I saw those.

Yeah, Creeper just told me where that was from earlier today. I had no idea, it was just a cool image I found somewhere, thought it matched the blue them going on in my sig and all.

my wife handles the finances and is constantly checking the bank account online, if i went and did that there would be a very nasty message on the answering machine when i got home.

See, that's what's cool about me liking comics AND handling the finances... I know how much we can spend, and when he sets a cap and I know we can afford more, I encourage him to spend more! It's quite fun. Especially since we spend equally (like today, he spent about $110 and I spent about $115 - then shipping and the preorder books we got too [see the 55% off thread]), so if I encourage him to spend more, I get more stuff too!! Works out wonderfully!!!

My wife reads about half the books that I do. Her favorite is probably Ultimate Spider-Man. She really loved Jim Lee's Batman too.

i think my wife would like some of the stuff i read if i could just get her to pick one up and read it, but she absolutely refuses because shes in the middle of reading the 10 book (so far) robert jordan series and doesnt want to get involved in anything else. i can almost understand that as im reading those same books now that she is, but im willing to bet when we get to the end of those books she will find another excuse not to look at a book at all.

I can get stubborn about stuff that my hubby likes too, like Dave Matthews and Kenshin, but I try to keep an open mind with anything he's interested in... I think the big reason that I'm down with reading comics is that I read them as a kid, because my big brother read them and I wanted to be cool like him... so then when Monkey and I started dating and talked about comics, and found out we had read as kids the same year, and liked the same books (Spidey and X-Men), that's when we started collecting again... I was kind of reluctant to read some of the books he gets, but sometimes I just get on huge comic reading kicks, and if I've read everything else we have, I try one of the books I haven't read! This keeps my mind open to new stuff... I mean, I was scared to read Daredevil cuz I didn't think I'd like it, and then along came David Mack and BAM Janelle has a newfound obsession for finding all of Mr. Mack's art and drooling over it... so it's good to keep an open mind, you never know what you will enjoy! And tell your wife I said so
