ASTONISHING X-MEN #19

Marvel Comics has provided Newsarama with your first look at John Cassday’s variant cover for this month’s Astonishing X-Men #19, beginning the “Unstoppable” arc.

AS already revealed in the solicitations, the variant covers will ship in a 50/50 ratio with the regular covers of the series, and each variant issue, up to Cassaday and Joss Whedon’s final, #24, will feature a different member of the “Astonishing” team. Each of the six issues will fit together to make one large image, which, Marvel told Newsarama, will be made available at a later date.

Additionally, Marvel provided Newsarama with a splash page from issue #19.

IMO, they should color Cyke's eyes in red, the same shade as the background. But, still, flawless Cassaday, as ever.

Astonishing is the only X-book left in my world.

cyclops looks like nathan fillion from serenity/firerfly which is quite funny considering who he is working with.

I don't know if its the scheduling but while I like Astonishing, I actually prefer Uncanny and Adjectiveless alot more these days. It seems like nothing happens in Astonishing. But it always looks beautiful.

Too bad for you, since the last six were much much better.

@ Grendel Prime -

The reason his eyes aren't colored in red is because he doesn't have access to his powers at the moment...

Astonishing X-Men is one fabulous book!

I hope they cancel the series after the final issue of the current creativ-team. because the successors will have not even snowball in hell-chance of coming even close to those 24 issues of W&C.

I agree. Uncanny and X-Men are much better reads.

How I wish the folks making the X-Men movies had even half this much respect for Cyclops. Go get'em Cyke!

For me personally, the best thing that Astonishing has done is bringing back Colossus and putting a spotlight on Kitty Pryde, other than that I haven't been too impressed

Are we back in the 90's??? When was the last time Marvel or any comic company used a that type of gimmick to sell the book. Now a day they just use the term variant to really sell out the books.

No need. His powers are gone and may never come back.

I've heard a few people say this, after remembering this cover (by Cassaday no less) I have to agree:
