DOC FRANKENSTEIN #5

Burlyman Entertainment has provided Newsarama with a four page preview of this week’s Doc Frankenstein #5 by Steve Skroce and the Wachowski Brothers.

The solicitation for the 32-page issue reads, simply enough:

Co-created by Geofrey Darrow & Steve Skroce
Written by the Wachowski Brothers
Illustrated by Steve Skroce

Doc, Texas and Monica storm the Church's stronghold in order to rescue the Faerie Princess.

FC, 32 pages.............$3.50

You know that if they hadn't released this preview on the front page of Newsarama a lot of people wouldn't have known it was coming out this week.

I only know because I got curious last week (following the release of Hunter Killer #6) and had a look on the web site. Good timing, eh?

I'm waiting for the trade... which I guess is coming out sometime around 2010.

I adore this series! Some of the most vibrant and brilliant artwork being published today is contained within its pages! A damn fun read too!

I'd be curious about print #'s for each issue. The series had some serious buzz when it first hits stands with issue #1, but due to all of the delays it seems as though nobody is talking about it and I have to wonder how many even think about it anymore.

Red face

It's been so looong since the last issue came out. Whats going on in the story? I wish team Burlyman could stick to the bi-monthly schedule we were promised. Nothing cools off a book like multiple months between issues.

haha. This is one of those books that you kinda have to forget about because its never coming out on time at all. But then when it does come out, its pretty exciting because the book is such a good time.

I stopped buying the singles of this and Shaolin Cowboy as they come out so infrequently, I just plain forget the storyline and don't feel like digging out the older issues every time the new one comes out. I'll wait for the trade, if it comes out.

Lycon

I'm new to this series, and from the sound of it I don't think that much matters. I must say that I do enjoy the story line already. The Lycon aspect of the other charecters is very interesting. I do wonder though if any one has some better choices for me with a very direct Lyconthropic storyline and main charecters. I have yet to find one I like. Any ideas?

Man, I love this series. Yeah it sucks that it's always late, but its one of the few that I won't drop despite being late every issue.

yeah, according to my online subscription service, this came out last week already, but I wouldn't know for sure whether it really did or not (because I only get them delivered to me once a month). I just got into this comic with issue 4 but managed to find the first two issues as well. Great stuff, but then again, I'm obsessed with Frankenstein and buy any comic book with Frankenstein in it. Like the seven soldiers one. I had NO clue what was going on, but the art was great. The first issue of that series was my favorite. I enjoy this series WAY better than that, though. This has got all the strangeness, violence, blood, dark humor, and monster stuff I love.

I agree. I love the series, but my hand is forced by lack of regularity. Come on, guys. Either crap or get off the pot!

Nyah nyah! I bought this last week! Get with the times, hosers!

Still, it's another great issue. Violence, blasphemy, more violence, werewolves, cowboys, dismemberment, a bit more blasphemy, and fairies (or is it faeries?). I love this series.

About damn time, but too little too late. I'm not digging my back issues just to remember the story. Maybe next time you should release this every 2 months instead of whenever you feel like it Burlyman.

This looks great and I'm going to get it, but I'm gonna have to reread the previous issues just to remember the storyline.

I'm just repeating what everyone else is saying but it's worth repeating...it's not right to leave your fans hanging like that.

I love how they added the "ULTIMATE (with umlaut above the U to make it all METAL)" to the title! That is just a nice little touch. \m/ \m/
