32 PGS./Rated A …$2.99
G-Mans 1st appearance since the mini. Also the HC book has tons of extras (why the f do i buy floppies again?)
Also its worth noting that every issue in X-Men 1st class is self containd.

AWESOME!
Everything looks great to me. I even have nostalgia for characters I only vaguely knew about. I'm getting misty-eyed thinking about it.
I love cheap magazine subscriptions!

Well, I recently got back to Chicago from a month-long vacation to the homeland and was met by a massive stack of comics when I went by the LCS yesterday. AoA was the first book I read when I got home(Annihilation was second..also good) and it was definetly worth the wait.
This was easily the best stuff I've read in the superhero genre in a long time. I really hope the trade does well and we get a regular series out of this, although I'd be happy with just the mini and I can't wait to get more of Ken in the upcoming Xmen first class issue.
Thanks guys, it's been a blast.

Oh, an Agents of Atlas thread.
I was just talking about it.
Jimmy Woo.
Yep, still works.
Anyway, I wonder when we'll see the next mini, later this year or next. Assuming there is one, of course - it seems like I read somewhere Leonard Kirk mentioning the possiblity of one.
And like twoheads, I guess the success of the trade would help the chances of a second mini...

More S.H.I.E.L.D... and the flying cars. You can never have too much of either of those.
More Derek Khanata. Brother Khanata.
And, of course, more Jimmy you-know-who... Woo.

I'm buying the hardcover just for the extras and I never buy the same thing twice.

Khanata is very cool but Jimmy Woo is my man.
and I second more SHIELD.
I just dont want AoA to go all out mainstream superhero/spandex. Sticking with SHIELD and the quirky corners of the Marvel universe where conspiracy theories abound works for me.

Depending on how The Eternals wraps up it certainly would seem fairly obvious for the Agents of Atlas to investigate the Ginormous Celestial in the middle of their hometown.

That could be interesting.
How about Agents of Atlas vs 3-D Man

Sorry about that, I probably should have put in some kind of spoiler tag, huh?

Yeah, S.H.I.E.L.D. and maybe the Fantastic Four are about all the spandex that's needed.
Any more than that and it would kind of kill it for me, too.

No, probably not buying a trade of it. But I am buying the Atlas Era Heroes Masterworks #1, which features their original stories. It should be coming any day now.

Right, for some reason, well...I know why, my brain didn't process that the mini would be in the Masterwork, which seems plainly obvious this morning. Moral? Don't post on message boards under the influence of grain alcohol.

I think the grain alcohol is still in your system
I did read the mini-series when it was coming out and loved it.
The Masterwork does not include the mini-series. It contains 1950's reprints that include some of the characters that appeared in the mini-series. Here is the solicit:
Quote:
As the ’50s dawned and the Atlas Era was born, the day of the Nazi-stomping super hero had passed, and in its place came a new style of hero reflective of the changing times. Heroes born of bizarre atomic science that battled otherworldly alien
menaces, and patriotic poster boys that battled back the Communist hordes.
Marvel Boy: Rejecting the tyranny of Earth’s governments, scientist Dr. Matthew Grayson built an experimental spacecraft and traveled to the planet Uranus with his infant son, Robert. In this incredible environment, young Robert developed marvelous powers of telepathy and superhuman strength, combined with a pair of amazing photonic wristbands. These astonishing powers made him Marvel Boy, cosmic protector of the solar system!
The Hero Revival: The year was 1953, and with fear of Communism clutching the nation’s attention, Atlas Comics publisher Martin Goodman tapped Stan Lee – along with artists John Romita, Bill Everett, Carl Burgos and Russ Heath – to stage a revival of the most-famous super heroes of the era. Bursting onto the pages of YOUNG MEN, the Human Torch, Captain America and the Sub-Mariner made their explosive return to the comics scene!
The inaugural volume of a line collecting the exceptionally rare 1950s appearances of Captain America, the Human Torch, the Sub-Mariner, Marvel Boy, the Black Knight and more, ATLAS ERA HEROES VOL. 1 is just the first peek into a historical bridge between the Golden Age and the Marvel Age of Heroes no fan should be without!
Collecting MARVEL BOY #1-2, ASTONISHING #3-6 and YOUNG MEN #24-28.

Yeesh. At least the AoA thread keeps getting bumped.
And judging by my hangover there could very well still be some alcohol in my system.
