SITE NEWS: ANNOUNCING BLOG@NEWSARAMA!

We’ve got a new member of the family to announce.

Starting today, Newsarama.com is getting into blogging with both feet, and we’re proud to launch Blog@Newsarama. If you’re a regular visitor of the comic blogosphere, you’ll probably recognize some of the names: Chris Hunter, Michael May, Tom Bondurant, Kevin Melrose, Shane Bailey, Stephanie Chan, and Graeme McMillan. The whole crew is headed up by JK Parkin.

And again, speaking to those who are in the know, you’re right – Newsarama didn’t so much give birth to Blog@Newsarama as we adopted The Great Curve, and gave it our last name.

So what can you expect from Blog@Newsarama? Well, let’s go with their mission statement - to bring you an engaging, thought-provoking and fun blog that you’ll want to come back to every day. For those who’ve never visited Blog@Newsarama, nee The Great Curve you’ll find it’s just that – a fun, informative, daily look at the world of comics, focusing not only on the world of superheroes and the direct market, but also how the world out there sees comics – from the brouhaha following Batwoman in the mainstream media to box office and television watches, as well as general news, columns, and features that will be of interest to comic book fans from all over the internet.

And don’t worry – Newsarama will still be here, day in, day out with up to the minute comic news, previews, features, and op/ed pieces; just think of Blog@ as the cereal going on the milk…or the milk going with the cereal. Together, Newsarama and Blog@Newsarama are your 1-2 daily punch of comic news.

So – click on over, add them to your bookmarks, and please welcome us in joining Blog@Newsarama!

Thats' what I was thinking, are these the articles and stuff that areto small or don't completely fit in with the regular rama site?

Nice addition to the overall fun and informative side of things at Newsarama. Win-win situation for both, expansion of Newsarama, more readers for the bloggers, nice move.

so this is just giving a chance for sources other than matt to upload news bits, etc?

seems like it will be covering a lot of the same things which already show up on newsarama. i guess we should watch to see how it unfolds though. could be a good thing.

will there be a link from the main page, etc.?

instead of blog@newsarama, shouldn't it be "blog@rama" though?

The only confusing thing to me is that icon on the front page for this story which makes it look like a podcast is coming to Newsarama, not a blog. (My god, we comics fans are a nit-picky lot.)

So ... any chance of the RSS feed returning for the main site? That was incredibly useful for the short time it lasted....

So... BLOG has RSS, but Newsarama doesn't.

And BLOG reports on different things than Newsarama?

Ack.

I have to admit I'm a little unclear as to what this is, really.

I don't frequent many blogs, but I was always under the impression that they were basically personal journals for the world to see.
This seems more like another news page for Newsarama.
Is the difference that the Blog page is more of an editorial / gossip/ rumors page?

Why not have some of the regular contributors to the site who already have blogs join the team as well?

...and for those on LiveJournal, you can add blognewsarama to your friends list. I didn't set it up, but found it while attempting to set it up.

Is that a joke? I recognize nealry all of the names as contributors to the site in some fashion or another.

Well, I regularly enjoyed The Great Curve, so this shouldn't be any different.
