George Perez Sketch- Thanks

Last week at the real Toronto Comicon I was part of a show called Collector's showdown. I probably shouldn't tell you if I won or lost but at the end of the show I received a sketch of Superman by George Perez and personally signed with a message by the man himself. It is beautiful. Mr. Perez was extremely patient as I went completely 15 year old girl Beatlemania style on him. He signed my New Teen Titans Number 1... Crisis number 1 and the hardcover version (both on the inside and on the dust jacket). He then listened to me prattle on for 20 minutes about what a fan I was... and the usual stuff. I just wanted to say how much I appreciated his graciousness and patience. He made me feel like I mattered and shared some good stories. So thank-you Mr. Perez for a great experience. For those interested the show is tentatively called The Collector's Showdown.. it should air in Canada in July on HiFidelitytv.. they are looking to sell it in the USA.

Well I could lie and say that I'm at work and can't scan it... but the reality is I don't have a scanner and the ability to do the job. I might be the only computer geek who is computer illiterate. But trust me it's beautiful... someone offered me $700 CDN for the sketch at the Con. Never gonna sell it.

I have posted this before but I think that it is worthy of reposting. When I was a kid Mr. Perez came to a convention here in Ohio, I was maybe ten at the time, he was selling original art from wonder woman. I went up and asked him how much for a page featuring Ares, Mr. Perez simply asked how much I could pay him for it. I walked away with the art for twenty bucks and have been his fan since. The artwork now hangs in my sons room. The coolest thing that has ever happened to me at a con and shows that he understands why us fans are here and how to make new fans, something I just don't see when I see kids being shooed out of my local store.
