SECRET SIX #1

A note from the author:

Dear potential reader,

Please do not purchase the upcoming mini-series, the Secret Six, from whence the following preview came. As the sequel to the already very naughty Villains United mini-series, this series is rated W for ‘wrongness,’ and receives my highest possible warning for the following elements; naked hot guys, naked un-hot guys, shooting, child endangerment, spicy food, betrayal, bad fashion, explosions, mountain-climbing, obscure villains, an appalling fight with a DC superhero team, a run-in with the rudest waiter of all time, inappropriate humor, foot worship, a seven foot tall Apokoliptan she-warrior in a compromising position, blood, pain, sex, and eggs. If you have high cholesterol or a fear of spicy food, I urge you to pick up Archie’s Summer Spectacular Fun Happytime Digest instead. Be heart smart! Choose Riverdale!

For those who simply have to test their blood pressure, this series features the Secret Six, the twisted and bent villains who chose to go it alone and defy the powerful Society, the largest collection of supervillains ever assembled in the DC Universe. In this new mini, two fresh members are added to the team, including one villain who is far more screwed up and dangerous than even his arch-enemy suspects. Someone’s rolling out huge money to have select members of the SIX assassinated, and has garnered the assistance of some of the Six’s worst rivals. But why? And how? And what does that have to do with eggs?

Catman, Deadshot, Ragdoll, and Scandal all return, as does...Parademon?!?!

Art by the amazing team of Brad Walker and Jimmy Palmiotti, doing some of the best work of their distinguished careers, and what do I give them to draw? Evil and punching and shooting and knife fights and lusty villains doing simply the most awful things.

I really should be ashamed.

Hanging her head sadly,

Gail

As much as I love Nextwave, there's no denying that Gail Simone is the funniest writer in comics. Bring on the Secret Six!

Out of all the spin-offs coming out of IC this is the one I am all hyped up about getting. Had some reservations about the artist but these previews just confirms, it is a must get. And parademon is back!?! Sweet!

So, is this supposed to be a tongue-in-cheek funny book or is it going to be a more serious spotlight on characters who probably should be taken seriously?

Great preview! I thought Villains United was the best of the four mini's leading up to Infinite Crisis... and I'm glad to see some of those characters back again here! Gail is a great writer, and you can tell she enjoys writing these "so bad they're good" characters.

First post.

This sucks!

And when I said it sucks, it sucks that this is not a ongoing series, only six issues.

The art looks great. And I'm already totally sold on GS.

WOW!! If this reaches half the fury of VU, a bigger pox on Diddo for not making this ongoing!

Gail, sign me on.

Do we know Cheshire's status? Dead? Not dead? Mostly dead? Looks like her on the cover, but that never means anything!

I'm definitely going to pick up the first arc of the new Secret Six. Villians United was incredible, and definitely my favorite amongst the Infinite Crisis mini's.

But, I thought that Dale Eaglesham would be returning as penciler. What gives?

My favorite scene in Villians United was when Deadshot and Catman made omellettes early in the morning. Anyone else have a favorite?

(I'm new to the forum)

Hmm...now, is the guy in the mask Deadshot, or the 6th member we're assured is more messed up than anyone would ever believe?

Obviously, we're meant to think Deadshot, but I can't help but think that we(and the others) only think so.

I have this deep seated hope that the 6th member will be Savant. Gail loves her messed up pretty boys at least as much as me, and far, far too much work was put into that one to just ship him off to limbo.

Cool preview and a great sales pitch by Gail. Twisted just the right way, like herself.

Yeah, thats why its hope and wish, as opposed to expectiing or theorizing.

And ongoing...we must all buy it, and force everyone we know to buy it, and then DC shall go "Hey now..."

Yes, I live in a dreamworld. It is a lovely, happy place.

I guess he's a bit busy with 52 and perhaps something else.
