But everyone's voice of reason is different, not everyone has the same morals. Also, with Riley and Grandpa making jokes at Huey just adds to it. For example, if Grandpa is going to go out looking for a white woman to have sex with Huey will say something about white people won't like that. Grandpa makes a joke at Huey, ignores him, and then ends up in prison or something. That shows that Grandpa should've listened to his "voice of reason". But does Huey ever make a mistake? Not really. The "voice of reason" never gets proven wrong showing that what they're saying is right. The writers can be the voices of reason but the characters should never be.
To add to this, when I first started watching Arrested Development, I absolutely hated Michael Bluth. He was the leader, the voice of reason, leading those "simpletons" around like sheep. I almost stopped watching after only one episode. In the next episode, he finally got his when he realized George Michael didn't want to be with him but be with his girlfriend and I loved it because it showed that he's just as capable of being an idiot, for comedic reasons, too.

He actually did a episode making fun of black television. It was really funny.

its kinda sad any racially charged show is forever gonna be compared to the chapelle show..but i guess it shows the power the chapelle show had.

Chappelle clearly makes fun of both races.
Boondocks makes fun of both races, but notwith the same overall comedy that Chappelle does. Boondocks gets more serious than Chapelle, but clearly targets both races.
The best example is when his grandpa befriends that white rich guy who just hates everyone white or black.
That was the contrast that McGruder was trying to make. The rich white guy was watching Huey talk to his brother and realized that Huey hated everyone as much as he did. It wasn't about color.

I agree but the art is better in the animation.
Also I hate the main kids voice - its an adult doing a kids voice - its so distracting...
If you want mean and racist - I think the new Adult Swim show MINORITEAM will definitely be your cup of tea - mch more potential for bad-taste here and done in a old school Marvel cartoon style

As much as I don't like Boondocks, even at its worst it has much more artistic merit than Minoriteam.

LeSean is awesome, his work easily eclipses the writing and voice work on the show (Regina King is especially bad IMO, although she grew on me a little).

Boondocks and believe it or not, the utlra gushy Rose is Rose.... I can't help it, the art for that strip is amazing....

I used to HATE Rose is Rose for its syrupy sappiness...until I realized what an whacked out dynamic artist the creator of it is. It's almost like the sappiness keeps you from appreciating his/her skill right away, but when you do...wow.

Exactly...... the disney like gush kept me from enjoying it, till I saw a three panel scene of rose doing some crazy acrobatic dance, it blew me away......
And the cat is cute too.......

it aired Sunday night on Adult Swim...
if you dont get it you probably dont get the Aqua Team either.
Sorry wrong comparison - just meant that the racial slurs in Minoriteam will comepete with Boondocks.
Minoriteam consists of the Arab convenience store owner Non-Stop whose power is he can’t be shot; El Jefe, a Mexican with a leafblower that can seemingly change into other gardening tools; Fasto, an African-American who is the fastest man alive; Jewcano is granted the powers of the Jewish faith and a volcano (coolest superhero ever!) and last, Dr. Wang, a super smart Asian who acts as the leader of the group. Together they fight against the likes of The White Shadow, Corporate Ladder, The Standardized Test, and my favorite, Racist Frankenstein.

There are parts of this show I do like, but overall I think it's racism taints it. It makes what could be a really smart show, really stupid and ignorant.
Though, if you want real pure racism, play Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Black people killing each other and eating fried chicken... now that's classic racism.
