I'm not sure if this belongs in the TV or the Movie thread. It was originally a Tv miniseries, but I believe it's been released as two movies on home video.

It's astounding how close to the comic version these characters are visually. Even Captain Haddock's butler!

WOW!. These officially make you my biggest contributor, Sam. Both here and in the TV series thread. Thank you.

Sadly (or happily depending on the pov), after finding this overlooked post

getting a better handle on IMDB's search function and simply looking at the current list, there are too many movies and enough Marvel/DC for them to have their own threads so I'll make two more threads in their respective forums to house them and perhaps one here for the rest of the world (for now). Heh... Three more lists. From the beginning. I'm one obsessed whore.

I didn't see it mentioned before, but there are six live action Lone Wolf and Cub movies from the 1970s.

Lone Wolf and Cub: Sword of Vengeance

Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart at the River Styx

Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart to Hades

Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart in Peril

Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart in Land of Demons

Lone Wolf and Cub: White Heaven in Hell

Kazou Koike, author of the original comic books, worked on the screenplays and they're rather faithful.

Another great topic, Kolimar. Great job. My contribution...

Heh, it's funny how no one mentioned The Mask. It's based on a Dark Horse comic.

Lady Oscar, a french movie based on the great manga Rose of Versailles by Riyoko Ikeda.

The Flash, a TV movie, and The Flash II: Revenge of the Trickster, a video-only movie, which both tied into the The Flash TV series.

Ghost in the Shell and Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence are based on the original manga by Masamune Shirow and it's sequel.

Three Spider-Man TV movies from the 70's, The Amazing Spider-Man, and it's sequels, Spider-Man Strikes Back and Spider-Man: The Dragon's Challenge.

Oldboy is based on a manga by Nobuaki Minegishi and Garon Tsuchiya.

A Modesty Blaise movie made in 2003, My Name Is Modesty: A Modesty Blaise Adventure, based on the comic by Peter O'Donnell.

Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland, a japanese animated movie based on the famous Winsor McCay comic (notice that Moebius was a part of the production team ).

Btw, do you count in the TV shows or is it movies only?

I guess it's because most of us thought the comic came after the movie.

Comic book creators and their work in other fields. What do you think?
