SIZER LAUNCHES CAFÉ DIGITAL COMICS

Press Release

Comic artist, writer and creator Paul Sizer (LITTLE WHITE MOUSE comic series) has officially announced the formation of his own self-publishing company, CAFÉ DIGITAL COMICS. After many years of working with outside publishers, Sizer has now taken the publishing of his comics into his own hands, and his first release will be the long promised MOPED ARMY graphic novel, to be released internationally this September.

Sizer, whose LITTLE WHITE MOUSE comics have been published since 1997 (first through Caliber Comics, and most recently through Blue Line Pro/Afterburn), has spent the last year and a half working on his first full-length graphic novel, which will be released in September 2005. MOPED ARMY is a futuristic tale based on the resurrection of the legend of the current day Moped Army, a real-life organization of moped riders. Sizer has been promoting this graphic novel at conventions for the past year, and fan buzz has been impressive, especially for a product still in production. Bolstered by the interest in MOPED ARMY, along with continued support for LITTLE WHITE MOUSE, Sizer decided to take the responsibility of getting his work to the masses into his own hands.

“I’ve been really fortunate and lucky to work with outside publishers who respected my work and treated me well, but it’s still working for someone else. And while self-publishing means I incur the risks of publishing, it also means I incur the benefit of hard work and effort. I’ve been very lucky to have a great foundation of fan and retailer support, and I am committed to making sure CAFÉ DIGTIAL COMICS does right by them both, with personal follow through and realistic release schedules that are set and kept.”

“While it may seem risky to venture into a self publishing venture in today’s current market, I’ve also seen many self publishers who, by approaching things smartly and realistically, have been very successful in multiple markets. And believe me, I’ve been hitting them all up for advice and tips to avoid the pitfalls of self-publishing! I’m excited to have this challenge on my plate, and I want readers to benefit from that excitement”

Immediate plans for CAFÉ DIGITAL COMICS call for the release of the MOPED ARMY graphic novel, to be followed with the re-releasing of the LITTLE WHITE MOUSE Perfect Collections under the CAFÉ DIGITAL COMICS imprint. The second printing of the first LITTLE WHITE MOUSE Perfect Collection did well in the bookstore and library markets in 2004, and Sizer is looking to follow up on that with the other collections in their new manga-styled “tank” format.

CAFÉ DIGITAL COMICS will solicit MOPED ARMY for sale in September 2005. For information, previews and downloads on the MOPED ARMY graphic novel and LITTLE WHITE MOUSE comics, visit Paul Sizer’s home site at http://www.paulsizer.com

Question In the rough?

Very cool!

LITTLE WHITE MOUSE is one of the books that always stands out as a great book at conventions!

Is MOPED ARMY going to be released through Diamond Comics... or exclusively through the website?

Curious like the cat,

Paul is the man! One of the nicest guys you'll ever meet with a 6'4, 250 lb frame and shaved head.

His books are killer and I would expect nothing less from his self published stuff. Plus, he's an excellent graphic artist who's got the "gift" of logo design that made me scratch my head in amazement everytime.

Good luck man...See you at the shows!
