I hope the final pages from the B&W Next Men book will look better in print than the art shown above.

The Complete Next Men - cool! I'll have to pick that one up.
I met Gordon Purcell on Free Comic Book Day - he's a really personable, friendly guy. I had no idea how versatile he was. Star Trek and Justice League Unlimited. He drew my favorite issue of JLU - Batman, Elongated Man, Martian Manhunter and Detective Chimp against Grodd.

Agreed. If the black and white actual print is exactly like these scans I would not buy it. Maybe someone could log on and let us know if the quality represented in this article is analagous to the actual printing.

Too bad the Next Men wasn't collected in color. I'd get that in a heart beat.

It's a July release.
And please everyone, just flip through the Next Men book. It's hard to make tiny 72-dpi b&w jpegs look impressive. The book is really gorgeous and is a great showcase for John's lineart. The pages are clean and crisp.

Verily.
I hate black and white reprints of stuff that was intended for color.

The Next Men preview looks like it came through a 10 year old fax machine.
Will be nice to see the Hellboy appearance again.

That's odd, I seem to recall black and white previews on the site before that looked decent; certainly better than these which look more like photocopies of photocopies of photocopies...

these images look like they were index color files when they were resized. If they'd been converted to RGB or gray scale before resizing, they'd have looked much better.

I think only Diamond west coast accounts got these books this week.
Midtown had none of them on their shipping list (the only IDW item they got was a Locke and Key variant) and I know they didn't show up on my DCBS list of comics I'll be getting when the box gets shipped out over the weekend.
So the other half of the country should be getting them next Wed.
