DARKNESS #4

Jackie Estacado's self-created problems with women continue next month in Top Cow's , and the publisher has provided us with a look at five penciled and inked pages from the issue.

The solicitation for Darkness #4 reads:

The Darkness #4
(W) Phil Hester (P) Michael Broussard (I) Ryan Winn (Col) Matt Milla (Cov) Dale Keown, Stjepan Sejic

The “Empire” storyline continues from writer Phil Hester (Superman: Confidential, Green Arrow) and artist Michael Broussard (Unholy Union) as Jackie is finally confronted with the reality of his use of The Darkness power in Sierra Muñoz at the hands of the rebels.

Cover A – Dale Keown
Cover B – Stjepan Sejic

Full Color 32 pages $2.99 ongoing series

The issue is due in stores on June 18th.

Good stuff. These pencils look fantastic! Taking forever to come out but I'm really liking the new direction the series has taken.

the shipping schedule has me thinking of dropping this book. i love the darkness but if the book only comes out every 6 - 8 weeks, it makes it difficult to follow for me. im also not too impressed with broussard's art. it reminds me of a really, really sketchy silvestri.

Amazing. It's a shame that The Darkness (and every other Top Cow book) had to struggle through so many bad pencillers and fill-ins (sometimes multiple artists in the same issue!). I wish we didn't live in a market where artists changed so much.

The writing, art and direction of this volume of The Darkness is so good that I don't mind its 6-8 week shipping schedule...each issue keeps me wanting more. I cant wait to see where Hester & Broussard take this volume!!!

Top Cow normally moves on a 10 issues a year program so only shipping 9 issues a year isn't a big deal. So far I love this book and hope it gets a chance to show off the creative team and an awesome character.

Now about that Deadpool/Darkness crossover....

I'm still wondering if Matt Hawkins has been writing checks out to the Hero Initiavve every month.

His promise to keep the books on time or pay up should be costing him some good money by now. I think only the first issue of the Marz/Sejic run has actually come out on time. (Oh and last week's Twilight Guardian).

Magdalena/Daredevil alone must be costing him some good money.

I actually got on my ol' donkey Pedro and took the copies of Twilight Guardian #1 to each comic shop individually.

That's why they say Troy Hickman's work won't ever be finished until he finally gets off his ass...

Well I'm first and foremost sorry if I came off too negative with what I said. Not my intention.

Just honestly wondering if Matt's been keeping up with what he said would happen if/when any lateness would occur. Besides, after I typed that stuff and went to bed, it dawned me on me this morning that your 2nd issue of your run also came out on time and I needed to make a correction in that regard.

And one should never apolgize for being sick, being on the signing tours, life, etc. they're par for the course. It just always seems the publishers don't take some of that stuff into account when soliciting the issues and it becomes something of an annoyance.

I don't always see the internet as a whineorama of righteous indignation as you call it (though it certainly does exist) but I see a lot more of it as fans asking questions about what's going on in the industry with certain things and the industry telling us "You don't need to know, shut up and buy our product and like it." and the fans yelling back "No."

Now how they choose to express themselves as I said, certainly is up to interpretation.

But again, wanted to apoligize again if I insinuated that you're just plain old late or anything like that. Not my intent.

LOL what do you do for the at home subscription customers?

Seriously though, can't wait to read your issue. My shipment from DCBS won't be here for another week but I look forward to it.
