Press Release
Born in fire, raised by monsters and destined to rule—The Son Of Hulk is here! This June, Skaar: Son Of Hulk #1 smashes its way into Marvel history, as World War Hulk architect Greg Pak and red hot Wolverine artist Ron Garney present the next major chapter of the Hulk mythos! Born of the Hulk and a warrior princess, Skaar survived the destruction of his home planet and has arrived on an alien planet shattered by war—but will he unite the people or destroy them all? This new ongoing series is perfect for Hulk fans new and old, featuring all the action, intrigue and smashing you’ve come to expect—along with insight into one of Marvel’s most important new characters!

True - you can see Garney's signature near the Marvel logo.

Is Julie Bell really that renowned anyway? Her husband Boris Vallejo seems to be the "known" factor in that partnership. Anyway, looking forward to seeing the Skaar cover when it gets up - won't be buying it, but never pass up a free desktop picture.

Cheers

Mm, I used to have a friend who had minimal interest in comics but wouldn't shut up about Vallejo. (Although personally I didn't get the appeal. But I love the Garney cover!)

With that line, I'd like to see someone argue how the publishers aren't trying to promote the collector mentality and suggest that people should get all three covers.

I like the Garney cover, but I'd love to see the Julie Bell cover as well. Anyone have a link to it, since Newsarama obviously posted the wrong one?

They aren't showing it, just telling you about it.

true, but the thread is titled "MARVEL REVEALS JULIE BELL COVER"

kinda misleading, ha.

Yes, the issue is the thread title - not Marvel's press release.

The press release is the issue, I'm with Mooserama on this one. Varient covers only artificially inflate sales. Say the 1st issue sells 300,000 copies and everyone at Marvel gets excited it's a blockbuster. Imagine how let down they'd be when issue #2 only sold 100,000 copies. Why? Becuase only that many people really cared, but when they do the varient cover thing intrest in the title is only artificially augmented.

Marvel's goal is to sell as many books as possible. They don't care whether the interest is "artificial" or not. It's a business and you do what you can to move product and turn a profit.

Do you think Marvel doesn't know this already? They won't "get excited it's a blockbuster" because they know the intricacies of variants already.

And yet many of the sell-out announcements provide quotes from the creators as if in disbelief of the sell-out. Except for Mark Millar; the sell-outs just confirm what he's always believed.

I'm glad to hear that there will be a third cover, but what would have been nice in this article is if they shown the third cover. We know about Carlo's and Ron's cover, but what does Julie Bell's look like?

I'd imagine it looks very much like a big green Boris Vallejo smashing things.
