CAPTAIN BRITAIN, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY #1s SELL OUT, 2nd PRINTS COMING
Press Release
Last week, Marvel launched two critically-acclaimed series features the characters you demanded to return and they both sold out at Diamond immediately! Marvel is pleased to announce that to meet the overwhelming demand, fans will now be able to experience these hot new launches in Captain Britain & The MI-13 #1 Second Printing Variant and Guardians Of The Galaxy #1 Second Printing Variant.
Captain Britain & The MI-13 #1 Second Printing Variant, from acclaimed Doctor Who scribe Paul Cornell and fan-favorite artist Leonard Kirk, features Kirk’s stunning interior art on a new wraparound cover. Drawing rave reviews from all corners, this Secret Invasion tie-in—and first ongoing series launched from the event—pits Britain’s heroes against a threat so powerful that former Avengers and Invaders must join forces to combat it!
“Captain Britain and MI:13 is a splendid new series, and the second issue can't come soon enough,” said Timothy Callahan of ComicBookResources.Com.
Guardians of the Galaxy #1 Second Printing Variant unites the Annihilation: Conquest masterminds, writers Dan Abnett & Andy Lanning, with artist Paul Pelletier for a new ongoing series thrill-ride that has IGN.com raving: “With a rip-roaringly good cast, trippy visuals, and a great cliffhanger to cap it all off, this series has all but cemented its place in my pull list permanently.” This issue features Pelleter’s powerful interior art on a new wraparound cover.
With both series receiving rave reviews, Marvel urges retailers to check their orders on upcoming issues of Guardians of The Galaxy and Captain Britain & The MI-13. What’s next for each of these teams? The only way to find out is to start at the beginning with Captain Britain & The MI-13 #1 Second Printing Variant and Guardians Of The Galaxy #1 Second Printing Variant.
Please note that the initial printings of each issue may still be available at the retail level.

Damn, Marvel's selling out lots of books this month. And these two are both fantastic. Pretty happy they did well for their debuts.

I picked up both of these on a whim out of curiosity, not thinking I was going to be impressed, but boy was I!! Both of these books were FANTASTIC and I can't wait for more. Guardians was quite the funny cosmic adventure, while Captain Britain was a great, fast-paced, action fest with a splash of espionage intrigue thrown in. Both were excellent!

GotG was excellent, delivering everything I expected such a series debut to have in it's pages. CB&MI13, I was less enthused about. I enjoyed reading it, but I am not overly excited about where the story seems to be going. I am going to give it a fair chance, though, and keep on it at least through the first full story.

Interestingly enough, the GotG image with the Marvel.com logo is in reverse of how the splash page appears in the book.
That's yet another testament to the skill of Paul Pelletier - his art looks great even in reverse.

I always wonder why they never give us numbers for the initial print runs in these sell-out articles. Without knowing how many comics were printed, it's tough to really appreciate their selling out in any sort of context.
Regardless, the words "sold out" are still good PR, and if it helps MI-13 and GotG--both excellent comics, if their first issues are any indication--I'm all for it.

Is there any reason why these three sellout announcements, some of which feature more than one title, couldn't have just been combined into one large announcement?

My guess is that the information was released in separate press releases, and Newsarama just posted each release as it came out.
