MOTOR CITY CON THIS WEEKEND

The Detroit area’s largest comic book convention, the Motor City Con, takes place May 16th – 18th at the luxurious Rock Financial Showplace in Novi, Mi. The three-day event boasts an impressive lineup of comic book and media celebrities as well as dealers from all over the country.

Media Guests include: Avery Brooks, Lou Ferrigno, WWE wrestler Mick Foley, M.C. Gainey from the hit TV show “Lost”, Gregory Itzin from “24”, Margot Kidder, Walter Koenig, Juliet Landau from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, Chase Masterton, Special Effects Artist Tom Savini, and Cliff Simon from “Stargate: SG1”.

Notable comic guests include: longtime Marvel artist Dick Ayers, fan favorite artist Matt Busch, Tommy Castillo, writer Chris Claremont, legendary EC Comics and MAD Magazine artist and editor Al Feldstein, former Marvel artist and Ghost Rider creator Gary Friedrich, current Buffy artist Geroges Jeanty, Ken Kelly, Mike Okamato, Marvel Zombies artist Arthur Suydam, long time Hulk artist Herb Trimpe, and Berni Wrightson.

The three day show will feature numerous special events including film premieres, costume contests, all-day Anime showings presented by the Anime Club of Michigan, and more. Numerous publishers and designers will also be on hand. We hope to bring you some special interviews from the show. There will be an UNOFFICIAL Motor City Con After Party at 5th Avenue Bar and Billiards in Novi, Saturday right after the Con closes down at 6:00pm

This is pretty close to me...I'd like to go but pry wouldn't be able to afford to buy anything to have anyone sign...all my comics are back home. So it might be more frustrating than anything.

Any specific time or kind of just as people wander in. I was going to get together with some others from the GCD on Saturday, so we could just head over there.
