Well since now, I think, you know, is all about marketing . . . or hype, ah whatever, Herc has been quite good and this Sacred Invasion looks cool, totally sold.

I'm not a huge fan of the name, myself. I get that it's supposed to be ridiculous and kitschy, but it's a little too ridiculous and kitschy. Plus, between the God Squad, the Thor Corps, and the Godpack, it seems that Marvel's gods just can't catch a break when it comes to team names. The only cool one so far is the Council Elite of the Pantheons, and that's not really a "team."
Snowbird does appear to be back. Guardian's been "back" in the sense that someone's wearing a Guardian suit and using the name. I figured that was Michael Pointer in the preview, but I guess it could be Mac.
What's that creature sitting next to the Skrull on the throne? Is it a Skrull god or something?
Yeah, those are the two Skrull gods. One is always in the form of a Skrull to represent their racial identity, the other is constantly shapeshifting to represent their identity (or lack thereof) as shapeshifters. The other gods in the Skrull "pantheon" aren't really part of the Skrulls' belief system, as I understand it; they're the enslaved gods of races the Skrulls have conquered.
Wonderful pages. I said it before and ill say it again, while i will miss Pham and Stephane (the latter moreso, given the circunstances) the art team is carrying the book wonderfully.
I cant wait to see Hercules boss around the Squad. That alone will make the saga.

Actually, the multiarmed creature is Sl'gur't, the Skrull war-god. It appeared in Fantastic Four annual 24. They even have a profile on it over at the Appendix of the Marvel Universe site. Looks like someone did their research on this one http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix2/s...rullwargod.htm

Yeah, that's who I'm talking about. Van Lente mentioned Sl'gur't by name in a CBR interview about "Sacred Invasion." He said she and Kly'bn, the other Skrull god sitting next to her, are the main deities in the Skrull religion.
