I'll look to buy this when it comes out.
I've often played with the idea of a superhero who "patrols" a very narrowly defined zone -- a single public park, for example, or only works crimes that involve domestic animals. ... And I've been known to "accidentally" bump the sideview mirrors of cars parked where they're not legally allowed (disability spaces, for example) as my own minor form of vigilante social justice.
So this looks like fun.

Thanks for the coverage, folks. I think we've got a first-rate comic here (in spite of my participation!), and I hope everyone will check it out (as well as all the other great Pilot Season 2008 books).

Thanks, Raven! As best I can tell, though, Twilight Guardian is nothing like Kick Ass (I haven't read the book myself, but I checked into it online). TG is more like...well...kind of like Common Grounds without all the action-packed slugfests...
(Although actually TG, as a mini-comic, predated my Holey Crullers mini that became Common Grounds).
It's a story about heartbreak and obsessive-compulsiveness and night people and comic books and loneliness and gargantuas and Chocola and...and...and...
Aw, hell, you kinda have to read it.
And I hope you do!

After reading your past works (Common Grounds and a couple issues of Witchblade for those not in the know) I will purchase anything you write. Hopefully this does well because I itching for some more Hickman.

Pretty much everything is super expensive these days, so don't let the possibility of that stop you from picking it up. I think it looks intriguing. I kind of wish that there were dialogue balloons in this preview as well, but I know you're a terrific writer, and I really hope just about any series you create gets picked up.

Well, if you'd like, I can do a dramatic reading of the script to accompany the artwork...

I don't know where this book came from and I'm not familiar with the writer (or the artist, apparently - wait did he/she draw the main parts of The Escapists? Cos it looks similar in style to that), but I'm gonna be picking this up. Sounds intriguing. The kind of superhero book I've been trying to write since I was sixteen.

I appreciate that, Nas. As to where the book came from, Twilight Guardian first appeared in the early 90s in my mini-comic Tales of the Pathetic Club, and then had a one-shot mini of her own shortly thereafter. She hasn't appeared since.
No, as far as I know Reza did not draw the Escapists. I think that was Jason Alexander and others, but I'm sure someone else can verify that for sure.
Me, I've written the Eisner-nominated Common Grounds, City of Heroes, Witchblade, Hulk in ACTOR Comics Presents, Turok, and a ton of minis and indies.
I hope you enjoy the book (and that you'll let me know what you think).

Only if you'll sign the book afterwards "My Darling Jeff.... How you've inspired me!" Otherwise it just wouldn't have that bookstore signing resonance.

For you, Niffen, I'll sign it like John Waters. "See you in Hell!"

Hey, Juggling man!
Yes, this will be up for a vote. However, the details on the voting system are still being worked out. The polls will go live in August after all the Pilot Season 2008 books have been released (two in May, two in June, two in July).
Thanks!

I'm wanted 'em to work out a system where all votes went to me, but for some reason they nixed that idea...

This ain't Florida, Hickman! And you're not George W. Bush! You'll have to get your votes the old fashioned, fair and democratic way.... bribing and lying your ass off.

Well I'm assuming folks with OCD will be interested in this comic (namely me) so that's an extra vote every three seconds right there. "Can't. Stop. Voting, must... vote again!"
