Finally, a fan who know WTF they're talking about :

A female asked what's going to happen to Catwoman post her title's cancellation. "She'll be in the Batman books," Sattler answered. "That's not good enough," the apparently scorned fan replied.

Damn right it's not good enough. Selina both needs and deserves her own book. I don't want to see Selina reduced to a supporting character in the Batbooks a la Alfred or Gordon. She deserves to be the star of her own ongoing.

Someone needs to ask about the TMK post-5 Year Gap Legion.

Her ongoing is the lowest selling DC book out there. The demand just isn't there to warrant her own series. I empathize, really I do (New Invaders was a great book but tanked and didn't even get the 12 issues most series usually get before cancellation), but that's the market for you.
Anyways, putting the Kuberts on something after the pitiful performance and humiliation they gave DC is a bad move. They weren't really adding any sales that any other popular artist would give, so DC should just end the contract (which they could, really with the delays they gave) and look for other talent. Or give more money to Gary Frank for being punctual.
And Booster Gold is a fan favorite. It's a fact. The 2nd best book DC is making outside of Nightwing (another fact!).

having Johns there helps, but Booster is currently Boosterific. It's become a last place for JLI fans to gather

The same person asked if there was a chance of a new Justice League International title, with DiDio answering that the new James Robinson Justice League title should "fit his needs."
|
"No, it doesn't. Let me rephrase -- is there a chance of a new Justice League title with Fire, Ice, Booster Gold and Blue Be-- let me rephrase, since evidently all questions with DC have to be worded like they were worded to Mephisto himself lest the answer try to wiggle out: is there a chance of a new Justice League title with Bea da Costa, Tora Olafsdotter, Michael Jon Carter and Ted Kord?"

Catwoman has had an ongoing long enough that there's clearly some market for one. DC just needs to reduce her screen time for a while to build up demand, just like with other low-selling ongoings like Hawkman and Aquaman. And unlike them, there isn't really any tangled-continuity impediments to giving her a new series.

I wouldn't mind seeing her become a member of Birds of Prey, honestly.

Sattler briefly spoke about Justice League of America, saying that Dwayne McDuffie has "big stuff" planned for the title.
|
I'm sure it's McDuffie's editor(s) who have the "big stuff" planned. The way Sattler put it, you'd think McDuffie was actually allowed to write the book.

Not even close. DiDio's precious, precious Blue Beetle sells less than Catwoman.
Wonder if THAT book is cancelled??

To be fair, Blue Beetle has been one absolutely amazing comic. I liked Catwoman, but Blue Beetle has easily been one of my all-time favorite comics of recent years.
And one could make the argument that, as Catwoman is a much more iconic character, the standard for success with her is higher than for a lower-tier character like Blue Beetle, especially if creators get paid different wages depending on how high-profile the assignment is. If that's true, and Catwoman is considered higher profile than Blue Beetle, then the book would need to achieve higher sales to be profitable.
That's just speculation, but it's as good an explanation as any, I suppose.
Regardless, I've seen in a few places that the book is just taking some time off before relaunching. Again, I don't know if that's true, having never seen the reports first-hand, but given the title's history, it may not be out of place. Without a doubt, however, Selina is assured a place in the DCU, and having maintained a longstanding title, she's fairly likely to get one again.

Why do I get the feeling that Catwoman will be the new Secret Six member?

Given time, if sales don't improve, I'm sure it will be too.
The fact they've given Blue Beetle more than 2 years to try to find success is admirable, especially seeing as how I think it's eventually doomed anyway. I just don't think the character can support his own title but I appreciate that they're still giving it a go. Much better than canning the title after only 6 or 12 issues because it didn't immediately find its readership base, like far too many books are.

Uh um, well, that book has a character who happens to belong to a minority, added to that is the VERY vocal fan base the character has and the fact that if someone cleared their mind and read certain key issues(Such as #14 or #25), they would get hooked.
Anyway, it seems that if the new writer taking over doesn't strike a chord, its going to get cancelled anyway, I think you should be pretty happy.
