CONTINUITY ERRORS!
"hearty breakfast" != "cereal"
This is going to be such a fun summer for movies (and a strain on my wallet).

I do intend on having a bowl of my favorite cereal, Frankenberry, before heading out to FCBD. Hopefully my shop won't be a madhouse like it was last year. They were actually OUT of free comics by 11:30... and they opened at 11!

Except the two biggest blockbuster films of the summer will be The Dark Knight and Indiana Jones IV. And even then, I think only Iron Man will be a blockbuster. Hulk will not be the same in terms of success level as Shell-Head's flick.

The Dark Knight and biggest blockbuster of the summer in the same sentence? Wow, I've got to disagree. While I think the Dark Knight will do very, very well, I think Iron Man will crush it in terms of Gross Sales. The first movie (Batman Begins) had domestic gross sales on par with Superman Returns (around $205k and $48k in the first weekend). I expect Iron Man will top $300k domestic when all is said and done, and it should have a very strong opening weekend as it opens early in the summer movie season. Dark Knight doesn't open until after the 4th of July as usually movie sales start to slow late in the summer.

I definitely think Indiana Jones will probably be THE summer blockbuster, but I suspect that Iron Man will be at least be a solid contender for the #2 movie of the summer (along with Wall-E from Pixar)

Except Iron Man has nothing to build off of, while The Dark Knight has both the tremendous quality of Begins, as well as the death of Heath Ledger. And the first time I saw the trailer in theatres for Iron Man, one of the girls I was with asked who he was, since she had never even heard of Iron Man. Iron Man does have the advantage in terms of release date, since it's the first of the blockbusters to open, but that's the only advantage. It doesn't even have that many A-list stars in it (save Paltrow), but granted, neither does the Dark Knight (save Freeman). It's a toss-up, but there are more factors in favour of Batman than Iron Man.

I'll be the first to say it!
Pineapple Express beats all 4 of those movies this summer.
...unless everyone going smokes too much weed and forgets to go...
But eventually those people will buy the dvd and its sales will kill those 4 mentioned movies.
...unless stoners spend their money on weed and just illegally download the movie...
Crap. Forget it.

I think the sampler is a good idea. Marvel has been doing a good job of tying in their movies with their comics. I think that's a good move.

Hopefully this won't be 6 different random two page offereings that just randomly end and tell fans to check out the latest issues or trades for the full story. I think this would be more successful with less books sampled and giving readers more of a taste for them, maybe even with a full story from one of the Marvel Adventures books included.
