Thing that really takes the piss here is that all his Buffy books were on time. What does that say about how slack Joe's rule is. Thats what you get for putting a creator who cant meet his own deadlines in charge.

Ugh. I'm especially pissed at the AXM delay, but it's not like it's anything new.

BTW, Bungie is really shooting themselves in the foot with all of the Halo comic delays they're causing.

Ah, Joss, you're such a putz when it comes to scheduling.

What's the hold up this time Astonishing? The scrips were turned in months ago. I can't believe that the art work isn't finished at this point. What is the reason for sitting on it this time? Are they trying to even out the number of books that come out in a given month? Is there a printer problem?

The Trade of the final ark is going to be out before the last issue.

I've asked this question before; I want to know who thought Giant Size Astonishing was a good idea? Here's a book that took four years to put out 24 issues. Somebody said, "Hey, let's drag this story out even longer, and make the issue twice as long. Nobody will care if it doesn't come out until September of 2010."

I imagine people who read this in OHC might have thought it was a good idea.

I don't mind it too much either, to be honest. More story is always better. I'd rather take more story with wait, than less story without wait.

The astonishing I put solely on Cassaday. Didn't he say he was finishing Planetary before giant-sized? He's good but he's one slow mofo. Nothing we're not accustomed to. Plus its a 40-page issue. Twice the time. Glad I read AXM in trade only.

As for Runaways.... I personally love the Dead End Kids arc but really hate Whedon's scheduling on it. Ryan is a fast artist, and more than capable of finishing a six-issue arc in 8 months.

Well from what I hear the story couldn't be contained in six issues. UNSTOPPABLE really is more of an 8-issue deal with this giant-size.

Ug. I really, really want Whedon's terrible Runaways arc to end so we can get back to what the title should be with Moore and Ramos.

Oh well.

"Unstoppable" did not need eight issues. It was a seriously, seriously "decompressed" storyline. It barely needed six issues.

Even if it didn't need it I still enjoyed everyone of them. So all this bitching about decompression be damned, I just don't care.

Yeah. I've so over Astonishing. That is like 5 or 6 weeks from when it was originally suposed to come out in April. The TPB is schedule for June. I'll just get that.

I don't care about decompression, and I really enjoy Whedon's writing, but there's really no excuse for this. This is, what, the sixth time this issue alone has been delayed? Dammit, Whedon, I know you love Buffy and you're excitedly working on your new TV show not that the strike's over, but you've got commitments. If the case is that Cassaday's doing Planetary first . . . well, Planetary's even more delayed, but there aren't other books waiting on it, so that's an idiotic move. In my opinion, of course.

I was expecting this. Frankly, I've been against the idea of the Giant Sized special from day one. They should have just made #24 longer.

I didn't know that Cassaday was finishing Planetary first, however. Planetary is the better book and I'm glad it's finally almost done but I've waited so long for that I could have waited till Astonishing was over. Plus, this now puts Ellis' Astonishing back even further (presumably). Let's hope that they get some issues in the can while we wait. That's the only silver lining I can see here.

i still think this comes down to Marvel wanting to give the next teams a big lead time.. and since Ramos has only started drawing Runaways, and Ellis/Bianchi are only on issue two.. i think they are delaying the last issues since marvel knows they will sell

I don't buy that for a second; this book has been plagued by delays from the beginning, and Marvel does not do this for any of its other series, but Whedon/Cassaday apologists are always saying that just in this case they're making an exception.

I guess it's Cassaday...

because that last issue of Planetary isn't coming out either.

You Whedon fans will d\go to any lengths to excuse his behavior. He could be doing a book with Mark Bagley and you'd blame the delays on Mark.

It must be fun to pretend to know what you're talking about.
