SUBURBAN GLAMOUR #1 - THE FULL ISSUE

To note the forthcoming release of the trade paperback collection of Jamie McKelvie's Suburban Glamour, McKelvie and Image have provided Newsarama with the full first issue of the series. The solicitation for the trade (due in stores on May 7th) reads:

SUBURBAN GLAMOUR VOL. 1 TP
story JAMIE MCKELVIE
art & cover JAMIE MCKELVIE

Life’s tough when you’re a teenager - homework, boy trouble and meddling parents. So when Astrid Johnson has to deal with imaginary friends turned real, monster attacks and faerie magic as well - that’s just not fair, is it? Collecting the critically acclaimed mini-series from the co-creator of PHONOGRAM.
MAY 7 • 104 PAGES • COLOR • $9.99

I'm really disappointed that I missed this when it first came out, this is some really good stuff. Unlike most books with teens, the dialogue wasn't too cliche and the pacing was fantastic. Hell, for $9.99 there is no way I can pass this up.

This comic is brilliant and one of my top reads at the moment. I don't want it to end with issue 4.

This series is fantastic. Mr. Mckelvie not only is an amazing artist, but an awesome writer as well.

I have all the issues thus far and I intend to get the trade to pass around to my friends. My letter was printed in issue two, haha.

Hell , this is just great! I didn't think it'd be this good but , heh , it absolutely is --what it is seen above.

Come May come , fair to have paperback immediately.

My shop has had some challenges getting the single issues in, but always managed to track them down for me eventually.

This title wasn't something I would've thought I'd care about chasing after, but I'm glad I have, because I'm really enjoying it. I'll be picking up the trade for the bookshelf when it's done as well.

Here's hoping Issue 4 leaves enough open to have a follow-up some day.
