It seems surreal seeing this footage of a character I've loved for so long about to come to life on the BIG screen. I can't wait.

That.

Was.

Beautiful.

My original reaction was "Good Fucking God, that was beautiful." It's invisotexted because I'm thinking of the children.

I said it on the blog post but I'll say it again here.

Now that is Tony Stark.

Amazing trailer, and now really look forward to the move.

It's amazing how much good will this movie has gotten by little things like using the Black Sabbath song. It's stuff like that that lets fans know there's people behind the wheel who really know the character, and know what they're doing.

I remember when the American Godzilla movie came out, Dean Devlin was at a Creation con (remember those?) and I asked him if he planned to use the Blue Oyster Cult song in the closing credits or something, and he said no.

That was when I knew we were doomed.

He went on about he "underestimated" how much everyone remembered and knew about Godzilla. I knew exactly what he meant - he was expecting to have a property that everybody just knew the name of, and he could deliver anything he wanted. BOY was he wrong.

Previews keep getting better.

It looks like they got the CHARACTER of Tony Stark right. This, as we fans know, can make or break a superhero film.

Looks like Marvel got it right this time. Looking good!!

That's Tony Stark?

Look, the trailer looks fine. But like most Marvel movies, we've now probably seen all the best lines.

But if you think the character matches Tony Stark, you're suffering severe "Tony Stark" deprivation from Civil War and what has followed. This is like a "sit-com" version of Stark.

Wonder if they paid Black Sabbath......?

That was incredible. This looks to be the best Marvel film yet. It gives me high hopes for the Marvel line of films.

this is what happens when Marvel has full creative control over their characters.

Who invited Debby Downer to the party?

Well. if those are the best lines, they're pretty good. if there are a handful more half that good, then there is plenty of goodness. Plus I myself am not going to see Iron-Man for the witty dialogue.

Regardless of what version of Stark it is , it appears to be a good one so far. I think most will agree. I think Downey has some serious acting skills so when there are serious scenes I'm sure they'll be great. Just because they show us only funny lines in a short trailer doesn't mean that's all there is.

As for Black Sabbath getting paid. Well, since a cartoon company isn't putting out this ad I think everyone can rest easy. Sheesh!

I think this movie looks great! Everyone I know is excited about it and most of them don't even read comics or know who the heck Iron-Man is.

Love everything about it, minus using Sabbath Iron Man again (sorry, just comes off cheesy). This should more than make up for the lack of fun in Dark Knight, thanks to Iron Man there should be at least one good, fun superhero movie in theaters this summer!

I thought it was uber-cheesy to use the song. They have nothing to do with each other other than the phrase "Iron Man". I suppose this was like a no-brainer to a lot of people, but how can using a song in a movie trailer trump over a bad story? (I'm not saying Iron Man is going to have a bad story, just that a Black Sabbath song won't do a thing to help this movie past getting people's ears to perk up initially.)

On a similar note, John Williams did his familiar music for Superman IV and also the Star Wars prequels. Sadly, his music ended up being the best things about those pieces of crap.

Sorry, since I own ALL the Iron Man issues from all of his titles, plus first appearance, I was basing my opinion on that source material. So I have a general idea of how Tony has been portrayed over the years, it may not be perfect but I do know Iron Man..

i'd only see it for robert downey jr. i guess it's good to have cohesion, cause to me it just looks like the other marvel movies

I'm not a fan of the character at all, mainly because I've never read anything noteworthy that featured him. I'll be in line on opening weekend though.

I'd still had doubts about the film til I saw this during Lost on my bigscreen last night. Downey definitely captures the playboy, alchoholic, billionaire, war profiteer. I think this is going to rival Spider-Man, and be the surprise blockbuster of the spring/summer. It very well could be the best Marvel film yet.

yipes, let's not go too overboard. let's see the movie before those judgements. the time is kinda off for me though, i think it comes out in the midst of finals, then once i'm out, i'll be gearing up for indiana jones. but i'm sure i'll see it eventually
