The books (which the comic is based on) are even better than the series was.

I've been on a major Dresden Files kick lately, having just bought the series on DVD (to watch for the second time) and being at the end of the first book. I'll definitely be checking this one out. Thank you Dabels.

I am not a fan of DF surely (not near ever) but there are those great pencils up there. Maybe maybe attending.

Liked the series?
Loved the books?
Then set your TV dials, because the sci fi channel will be supposedly running a two hour Dresden movie on March 8th, based on Storm Front. (I know, one of the episodes of the TV series was Storm Front.)

I'm three-fourths of the way through the latest book. Yeah, I pretty sure I'm going to have to get this.

I'm guessing that it's the unedited version of the Storm Front episode of the tv series. The episode that was shown was actually intended to be the pilot for the series, but due to last minute cast changes it got shown way out of order and edited into an hour long.

Personally I'd be perfectly happy if they just adapted the books as occasional two-hour films, much like how ABC used to do several Columbo movies throughout the year. Many of my favorite characters like Thomas and Michael never got a chance to appear in the tv series, and I'd love to see them adapted to the screen.

The Dresden books are simply brilliant. I have everything in paperback and can't wait for this comic.

I've been a Dresden Files fan for years, have all the books published thus far (#10, Small Favor, comes out in hardcover on April 1), watched the entire TV series and have that on DVD. So, yeah, I'm getting the comic. And I'll watch the tv-movie on Sci Fi. My husband and sons just loved the TV series (they don't read the books).

Butcher does some of the best third acts I've ever seen.

This will surely be awesome!
The Dresden book series is amazing. The TV show was good, but the books (as always) were much better.

The Dresden Files always seemed a natural for comics as it's written in a very fast paced roller coaster fashion loaded with action and character arcs.
I also agree with the previous poster that said Butcher does some of the best third acts.

Through Butcher's interviews and writing you know he's a comic fan and it's an absolute treat that he's writing this series. I hope Harry has a long future in comics!

Much much much better.

I love the books... was so-so about the series. Very much looking forward to the comics, since they can accomplish the same thing as the show (providing a visualization to the stories) without concerns about expense, camera work, commercials, etc.

Likely the original version of the pilot, which was supposedly cut from 2 hours into 1 hour and run mid-season. You could tell it was chopped to pieces, too, since it moved so quickly and had a lot of illogical jumps.

With that said... the first novel is 1000x better than the show. The subsequent novels are equally awesome.

The comic book series will fit right in to the series; it reads just like one of the novels. The first issue's about a month and a half away from release; don't miss it!

The novels are soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than the tv show, though I do miss the show. Paul Blackthorne was great as Harry. And I can't help hearing Terence Mann's voice now whenever Bob appears in the books. (Sorry, I just can't imagine book Bob as anything more than an annoying, talking skull with orange eye-lights.)

I can't wait for this mini series, especially with Jim Butcher himself writing. And with the tenth book coming out in a month... The only thing that be cooler is if Marvel hired Butcher to write Amazing Spider-Man. Or Doctor Strange.

Butcher's Dresden is a great read and for anyone curious, two years ago or so he wrote a Spider-Man novel which had me hoping against hope that Marvel would convince him to come write for the comic. Give it a read if you can find it.

LOVE THE BOOKS.
Lookingfoward to the comics, the one thing i see, is the blonde, im assuming is Karrin.
If so, i dont know, she just dosnt look cute enough.
(normaly i dont need cute in my comic book women, but Harry points out again and again that in addition to being tough as nails, Murphy is adoible)
