After debuting it on ABC’s
Good Morning America Paramount today released the trailer for
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull online at both
Yahoo Movies and
www.IndianaJones.com.
The teaser doesn't clear up much of the mystery surrounding the film’s story, although a report from
USA Today yesterday, explained the story as:
“
Crystal will be set during the height of the Cold War in 1957, with Jones on the hunt for South American relics with supernatural powers.”
The trailer shows Jones, along with Ray Winstone, facing off US Army soldiers, along with Indy driving and fighting his way through what looks to be a rather familiar US Army warehouse...possibly one where other artifacts are stored...ones that were supposed to be under the study of "top men." But of course, that's just speculation, something which will certainly run rampant now that the trailer is out.
And also, for those expecting that Shia LaBeouf would be playing Indy and Marion's son...maybe not. As shown in the clip, LaBeouf's character asks Jones, "You're a...teacher?"
"Part time." Indy replies.
The teaser shows that, as with the previous three movies,
Crystal will be a very physical movie for star Harrison Ford, perhaps the most physical one yet, as he mentioned to
USA Today
Ford dismissed notions that, at 65, he may be a bit out of shape to play the action hero. Ford told the newspaper that he kept in decent shape over the past 19 years because: "I've been anticipating and hoping we'd have one for the past 15 years."
