BAGLEY'S 1st DC ART

DC Comics has provided Newsarama with the exclusive first look at his first piece of art produced under his new, exclusive contract with the publisher.

As for what the project is, while an official announcement is expected soon, Bagley last month told CSN/Newsarama:

"...my old buddy Kurt Busiek and I are together again for what looks like a really great project. I’m also really happy that Art Thibert will be inking me . He did a bang-up job when he and I worked together on Ultimate Spider-Man. I just got back from a three-day creative meet with Dan DiDio, Mike Carlin, Liz Gehrlien, Kurt, and Ian Sattler. It went great—they’re a bunch of great people with a real passion for what they do."

I've never been that great a fan of Mr. Bagley's pencilling, nor of Mr. Busiek's writing. But I understand that many people are great fans of both, so I guess they are an ideal team : )

Sweet. Bagley drawing the big 3, I'm there. Especially since I have room in the budget since dropping ASM.

Wow that looks great. But how long do we have to wait for details on what the project actually is, I wonder?

His Superman and Wonder Woman look fantastic (enough to make me me wish he was working on Superman and not Renato Guedes). His Batman looks a little off, though; the head looks kinda big in this pic.

Be that as it may, I look forward to whatever he's up to.

Like always, Bagley is solid as can be. That Batman looks incredible, i'd love to see him on Batman or JLA.

Talking Awesomeness

Yeah, that DOES look great. Superman's hair could use some work, but otherwise, beyond solid rendering!

Well..! I guess a Bagley/Busiek team-up on JLA could actually make me pick the book up again.

Bagley at DC looks so wrong, but oh so right at the same time.

Ya know, I didn't notice it until now...Bagley's Wonder Woman is a near-spitting image of Anne Hathaway.

Not that I'm complaining in the least....

Has Bagley done any previous work for DC?

He and Ringo were always my two faves. Can't wait to see more from Bagley at DC for a change. All I gotta say is, since Bags did such a wonderful job with Marvel's resident "everyman" super hero, how about a project on DC's resident everyman super hero? Flash please!

He did a SpiderMan/Batman crossover book. You got to see his Joker in it as well.

Prior to this just a Batman/Spider-Man crossover. I can't wait to see what the story is behind this is. I love Busiek and I love Bags and when it's them together we know it's awesome.
