Way and Dillion off of Wolverine:Origins....your thoughts..
So I just finished reading a certain comic magazine and read that Way and Dillion will be off Wolverine:Origins after the Deadpool arc...it also said that they would be starting a new Deadpool ongoing....who do you guys think will be taking over after they leave the book???

If this is true my wish has been granted yet I cant be happy. Wolverine is saved from horrid art and writing but now Deadpool is doomed. With those guys on a Deadpool book it will mean the sales will be poor and instead of Marvel blaming Way/Dillon for crappy sales the character itself will be blamed. Deadpool will just get the axe and it will be forver before Marvel gives him a shot again. Deadpool isn't like Wolverine his name alone doesn't sell the book.
Oh and if this true damn you Dan Way for taking what should be a happy occasion and ruining it. This must be whats like having your cake but not being able to eat to.

Thats not true, i wont buy that rumor since you dont have a source. What is known is Origins is a 5 year deal lasting around issue #60ish with Way writing it till the end along with Dillon.

actually, I might buy this rumor no matter how much I don't want it to happen, well, I do want them off Wolverine Origins but I don't want them on Deadpool.
Wolverine is potentially a 100K seller every month, but somehow Way have made it drop to the 40K/50K range. and Deadpool have a royal built in fan that will pretty much but Deadpool even if its Way, but I'm afraid Marvel will pull a "look, Deadpool doesn't sell well" crap on us.

I dropped this book but might pick it up with a different team, depending on who it was. The stories just seemed to never have an ending or any plot really. I don't hate Way like everyone else seems to, but I just wasn't feeling this book.
As for Dillon, well I just started reading Preacher and have read the first three volumes and his art is amazing in there, but for some reason in Wolverine it seemed like everyone had the same face. I don't know why there is such a difference, but his older work is incredible. It was still OK and it wasn't the reason I dropped the book, but now I know he can and has done much much better.

Rilly Doe, how much do you think they're paying him to draw this crap? I hope it's alot, because he could be doing the next great Vertigo title like he used to. His art's still really good IMO though I do prefer his preacher work.

Origins was awful from the get-go. I can't believe someone is gonna come onboard and salvage it this late in the game. Even if the new guy is knocking out classics every month, theres the knowledge you've got 2 years worth of putrid back issues weighing you down.

Guys, seriously, how can this NOT be true? Have you seen the disasterous fall in sales that is still going on with that series? It's BAD! One of the least interesting things I've ever read with Wolverine. The art is terrible for the type of character and tone it should have. Even if the original poster is just making that up, it's only a matter of time, anyway, and we are about at the point where a change is absolutely a must.

Am I the only one that hates Dillon on a superhero book? His art is too stale and bland to me. The eyes always look creepy. His art would be fine for books with less action but for superheroes?

There are like 15 years worth of terrible back issues on Superman or X-Men or whatever and yet that doesn't weigh down any writer on those books. If the work is good people will start reading it.

Wolverine doesn't need a second solo ongoing, anyway. He's spread too thin as it is. They should cancel Origins and try to concentrate on making his regular solo title better.

Agreed normally I wouldn't even bat an eye to a rumor like this but with the way this book has been. I'm just shocked it has taken Marvel this long to get this creative team off this title.

I agree. Even when he draws people looking different (A rare example of multiple, appropriate faces is Ultimates 2 Annual #1. Only a couple of guys got the standard Steve Dillon face.) they have creepy eyes.
I hope this rumor is false. As much as I'd love a more competent writer to take Way's boad plots and refine them into good comics and give the book to a good artist, I prefer two Wolverine books with one of them being borderline, but if we have a Deadpool book I want it to be a good Deadpool book. But I'll look on the bright side. Deadpool is perma-masked, so Steve Dillon's art will actually look good.

Wow! I love Steve Dillon's art!!! I was always on the fence about picking up Cable and Deadpool becasue I really don't like Cable. But now! His own ongoing and Dillon is drawing?? Sign me up! By the way, where did all the Way hate come from?? Just curious.
