Pictures from the NY Anime Festival 2007! Sketches from Studio Udon and more!

These are pictures I took from the New York Anime Festival which took place from December 7 - 9 at the Jacob Javits Center. I had a great time at the show, one of the best cons I ever attended!

First up are the sketches I got from Studio Udon! I like to ask for characters that no one else is going to ask for! If you provide the artists with enough reference they'll draw anyone you want! Here's Saya, the final boss of Namco x Capcom by Omar Dogan!

Also from Omar Dogan, this is Blair from Street Fighter EX!

From Joe NG I got Mukuro (Kenji in the US) from Warzard (Red Earth in the US) and Capcom Fighting Jam! (Capcom Fighting Evolution in the US)

These join the sketches I've recieved from Studio Udon at the NY Comic Con of 2006. This is Ryu of Street Fighter by Alvin Lee!

Chun-Li from Street Fighter by Omar Dogan!

And one of Ingrid from Capcom Fighting Jam and Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max also by Omar Dogan!

But back to the NY Anime Festival, Zub of Studio Udon signed my Makeshift Miracle book (he is the author and artist of this book) and provided me with a sketch of the main character Colby!

I also got some cool stuff from fans at the show. This is a great Morrigan from Darkstalkers print I recieved by a female artist named Noah!

And some vinyl stickers I purchased at the con. Felicia of Darkstalkers!

SNK has fans too! Vinyl stickers of Kyo, Iori and Mai from King of Fighters!

The New York Anime Festival did share convention space with Wizards of the Coast, so big up to everyone who attended that event. I'LL PLAY SERRA ANGEL IN ATTACK MODE!

AND I SUMMON SERRA ANGEL TO THE FIELD!

Now we can't have an anime con without an official mascot man that's just crazy talk! So here she is, designed by Shi Yuan Kuang it's Libby, a kimono wearing chibi version of New York's very own Statue of Liberty. Her name is Libby, get it?

Yeah Libby protect my comic book collection when I'm away!

CAPCOM CAME DOWN WOOT WOOT! In true insane Capcom fanboy fandom I just had to take a picture of their logo!

Picture of the Devil May Cry 4 flyer they were handing out at the show.

They had the demo of Devil May Cry 4 available for play on the PS3 and the Xbox 360 and let me tell you it looks and plays great! They also had Zack & Wiki for the Wii available for playing too! Capcom shared floor space with ADV since they are bringing out the Devil May Cry 4 anime out in the US. ADV previewed the first anime episode in English and it sounds excellent with Dante having the same voice actor he has in Devil May Cry 3 and 4! An extra special big up goes to ADV for giving me a FREE copy of the Jing King of Bandits Seventh Heaven DVD for attending their panel! Anyway, pics of the Capcom / Devil May Cry 4 booth!

SNK came down also woot woot!

In the gaming room they had wall projectors going so here are big images of Virtua Fighter 5, King of Fighters XI and Tekken 5 that people were playing!

There were lots of games in this gaming room that you could play, ranging from Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles(Wow this game is fun!), Trauma Center, Dynasty Warriors Gundam, Naruto and One Piece fighters, and let's not forget Godzilla Unleashed!

A picture of a Death Note Wall Scroll I took because I am a huge fan of the Death Note manga and anime. Beside's Misa's not ugly!

Marvel is teaming up with Del Rey Manga to bring us shojo manga (girl's comics) based on X-Men and shonen manga (boy's comics) based on Wolverine. From the shojo X-Men manga, here's a conceptual image of bishonen Wolverine! (there's a thread on this topic at Newsarama where you can see the images clearer BTW.)

A whole lot of cosplaying!

Gotta wrap this up with some Capcom cosplayers! Here's Chun-Li!

Finally, this is Cammy hanging out with Ingrid and Hermit! Hermit hails from the manga, anime and Capcom produced fighting game entitled History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi released in Japan. The Hermit cosplayer was surprised I knew who he was, I was the first to identify him! DANG MAN THIS IS SOME HARDCORE CAPCOM LOVING FROM COSPLAYERS YOU BETTER RECOGNIZE!

That's it, hope you enjoyed!

If you want more information on everything I saw and did at the con, check out posts #35, #44 and #48 on the link below. The entire thread below is loaded with pictures that I have taken of previous New York conventions. Have a good one!
