I'm excited about this, but I hate all the variant covers. I know no one is holding a gun to my head to make me buy them, but the excessive number that Dynamite, IDW, and Avatar put out just irks me to no end. I wonder how Garth Ennis got them to only give his Boys book one variant?

just do what i plan on doing
buy the trade instead of the issues.

the presentation will be better too and that way i can read it as one story at once.

Honestly, though, why would you NOT want the Alex Ross cover?

It's more like the 40's, though.

I love the Black Terror. Wonder why it's the full Black Terror here an The Terror in Terra Obscura. TM issues?

I'm not an Alex Ross fan(everone looks like a statue of an old man or a tranny), but that is a great cover.

Wait - I stand behind no one in my love of Ross' work - but he didn't design these heroes right? He may have re-interpreted the costumes but they have the same basic designs as they did in the '40's right?

I enjoyed Marvels, Kingdom Come and most of what I could understand of Justice.
That is a cool cover, but I think my wallet is going to have to wait until the series is collected as a trade paprback.

I am in. Didn't Ross say right here on the Rama that this is the launch of a new universe or something like that? Will it be an all Ross - Kreuger universe or are they going to use their existing stable of guys? That could be all kinds of awesome. I think it is definitely time for the "Dynamite Universe," especially if this is the starting line up.

Any one from Dynamite lurking around? Can you give us a hint?

As I understand it, Ross will only be providing the covers to the series. I thought that Steven Sadowski was doing the interior art. Now I see that Carlos Paul is pencilling this first issue. I am unfamiliar with his work. Has anyone seen it before? Links?

Incentive covers, prima donna creators who get out their books whenever the heck they want, wall-to-wall event comics, killing/maiming/redesigning heroes at the drop of a hat, Mark Waid on Flash, Chuck Dixon on Robin (and Batman, Batgirl and Green Arrow). Captain America "dies" and his importance as a "symbol" is raised...the list goes on

Ohboyohboyohboyohboyohboyohboyohboyohboy !

I'll be insiting the Ross cover please. I just don't like Michael Turner's style of illustration. Sorry Mr. Turner.

What a prescient term.

This may have been mentioned elsewhere, but is this designed to be an ongoing series or a limited?

And offering a Michael Turner variant to an Alex Ross standard cover is pretty much the Bizarro version of incentives.

I was just about to point that out.....

Last 2 articles I could find on here had sadowski on board as penciller. If he's no longer the artist, my excitment level just dipped big time and I may just pass then.
