MARVEL RELEASES SECRET INVASION TRAILER

Marvel has released a trailer for next year's Secret Invasion miniseries written by Brian Bendis and penciled by Leinil Yu. Click here

As Bendis told Newsarama last week: "Basically it’s me and Leinil Yu putting the exclamation point on this Skrull story. The miniseries in and of itself has a beginning, middle and end like Civil War, but if you’ve been following what’s been going on – it’s a huge payoff, but if you’re just reading Secret Invasion, you’ll get a full, large-scale Marvel Universe story."

Only one question remains: Who Do You Trust?

Love it. It definitely has that "duh, duh DUH!" kind of music added to heighten the excitement.

Who do we trust? uhh....not the Skrulls. This is pathetic and typical Marvel hyperbole.

I feel as though Iron Fist's "What does this mean?" is on par with "Not like this"; meta-text by Bendis that is easily applied to a lot of situations.

Oh yeah, I will be buying this unless Bendis starts negating other people's stories by making them a Skrull. Say, revealing a character was a Skurll during a time period when they had stories with thought balloons or narration bubbles.

That wouldn't negate the story as such... you could still pick any one of those stories up and read them in the context they were originally intended.

I haven't been following the lead-up to this story much at all, which is probably why that trailer did very little for me. But on the other hand... that trailer did very little for me.

So did anyone else think the music sounded like the opening of Blade Runner?

i think itd be cooler if it was mainly 2nd tier characters that were skrulls. like jarvis or rick jones or j. jonah jameson. i think that'd make the whole story that much more interesting.

Um... yeah, but who are the skrulls posing as? And how can you trust anyone when everyone could be a skrull?

Wow, they really put a lot of effort into that, didn't they?

1:06 runtime, must have taken at LEAST two minutes to put together...

Spider-woman?

Why is the image of Spiderwoman kissing Iron Man being used to sell this? Is that act shocking in and of itself? Hasn't she been portrayed as somewhat slutty, particularly in her recent miniseries?

Thumbs down Another big event for nothing!!!

Okay another story coming from Bendis. Why the Skrull are suddenly a BIG MENACE. They were able to take form of anybody else since the begining, so now are they more menacing??? And Mark Waid did use the gimmick of the Skrull in the Capitain America "Heroes Return" series. The First Hydra was a Skrull, he was the leader of one the bigest group of vilain in the world, and he was a Skrull. So what the ??{}[[ is difference now??? Elektra was a Skrull..... SO it's worse than a big villain to be Skrull? I don't see the point with this mini-series to be so important. IT WAS DONE BEFORE!!!! Come on, do something different. Another serie coming from Bendis that it will take 4 or 8 months to see the end.

I always like these trailers. Who do I trust? I trust Iron Man. I think this series will be fairly good, the art is sure to be at least and honestly Bendis can't write this as bad as he did House Of M.

The 'big deal' is that with the Elektra reveal, it leaves the heroes (and the reader) wondering 'How long has this Skrull been posing as Elektra?'. Is she actually dead, while one of her 'rebirths' was when the switch was made? Is she alive? And if so, where?

If 'Skrulektra' has been fooling the heroes all this time, then might there be more....? If so....who? Is Luke's wife and/or baby a Skrull? If so, whom do you trust? What villains have been replaced? What heroes? What loved one? And how long has this been going on?

It makes it fun to go back to your back issues and look for clues (as this story has been building for a while). You know...fun, excitement....what people used to read comics for before the internet was invented....
