Daredevil is a good book but I really don't think it's the best one at Marvel

I can't believe Dan Miki got an award for inking. Him and Crime lab studios ruin tons of pages.

Civil War #1 was released may '06. since ballots are due in march of the year in question, it falls in the 07 voting.

I'd have to agree with you there. I think Miki's work is what turns me off most of the Marvel books like Moon Knight. Just too heavy on the inks there for it to be enjoyable to look at.

Congrats to Daredevil, it's easily one of Marvel's top three books...month in and month out it rotates in and out of my favorite book slot and yet gets none of the love that Cap and other more high profile titles get from the general public! Nice to see it pick this up!

Good choices. I was surprised by Civil War #1, but it was good issue and series overall.

Harvey Kurtzman. EC artist and writer, known for doing probably the first anti-war war comics, not to mention starting Mad magazine. A brilliant storyteller and a huge presence in the comics industry.

I didn't even think Pride of Bagdad was nominated. Last time I saw a list , it wasn't. Super glad it made it tho.
As far as Civil War goes, it was a wonderful idea in the beginning that went terribly terribly wrong by the end. So the first issue getting an award is ok. Although "best single issue"?? seriously? For the entire year??SERIOUSLY??

Darwyn Cooke had a nice night. I've been meaning to check out The Spirit. The Lost Girls was incredibly well-presented.

Better make it quick: for all intents and purposes, the book is over in a couple months (when Cooke leaves).

Yeah Iron-Fist, Daredevil, and Cap all three are my fave books at Marvel and each month they totally blow me away...I wish I could get as excited about Bru's X-book...

Daredevil? Really? After getting every issue from vol 2 #1, this was the year I dropped it because nothing was going on. It totally lost my interest. I love Brubaker, but I think this is easily the least of his work. Haven't they read Criminal?

Daredevil getting the love it deserves! Congrat, Bru.

Although, I still think his Cap is the best super hero title being published.

And James Jean wins for his covers every year. And much deserved.

James Jean's stuff is beautiful, but I really wanted JG Jones to win for Best Cover Artist. He did such great work every week on 52, but his covers were never redundant. Each cover told a story and used a unique style, as opposed to being a shot of a group of characters posing. And he did it every week.

I am thrilled that Pride of Baghdad won. The best original graphic novel I have ever read, and possibly one of the best comics I have ever read period.

Vol. 3? Was that really published last year? Anyway, well deserved.

Although "Daredevil: Battlin' Jack Murdock" was even better, but I guess it flew under too many radars.

One part says "agreed" the other part is yelling SEAN McKEEVER!

Not really. Every issue of "Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane" was way better than that.
But hopefully next year "Iron Fist #7" (best done-in-one stories in the past several years) will win.
