"X-MEN DISASSEMBLED" TEASER IMAGE

Marvel has released a new “teaser” to world, this time with the curious but familiar filename “X-Men Disassembled”, no doubt designed to send shivers down the spine of old school X-Men fans.

There announcement was devoid of any further information, other than the date “September 10th, 2007, presumably the date (which happens to coincide with a Diamond sponsored summit with Direct Market retailers) when more information will be released…

question, who is that gal in the upper right corner? I thought she was a badly rendered Kitty Pryde but then she's on the left. Looks kind of Asian, so maybe Armor?

It's got to be Armor. Kitty is on the other side of the pic. She has the sleeveless uniform from Astonishing.

I wonder if this is a new event or the outcome of Messiah Complex. Great art though. I think the girl on the write is Surge leader of the new x-men.

Isnt that what MOST of Marvels' books do anymore? Seems like everything is either part of a crossover, a crossover itself, or a "tie-in".

So in the end, will they make an X-Man a villain with sketchy logic, have a few more c-d listers offed and maybe have someone really popular kill themselves in the most idiotic way possible?

Obviously, that's a little silly. I'm not exactly sure how you could change the X-Men to make me not like them (as they did with the Avengers).They're the X-Men. They already hve Wolverine. And Morrison already deconstructed them.. and everyone from Scott to Jean to Logan to Colossus to Professor X to Magneto to whoever else died.

So long as they're still superheroes and we're not suddenly into some horribly bleak doom and gloom Days of Future Past, I'm likely going to be ok with it.

Really, I always thought the X-Men should have a bunch of non mutant superheroes like Wonder Man.

It's supposed to be about human/mutant togetherness right? why not have humans on the team too?

If there's any franchise that needs a new start, it's the X-Men, but it doesn't make a lot of sense with the current push of Endangered Species and Messiah Complex, which are already supposed to change X-Men comics (forever!). Not to mention Ellis and Bianchi's upcoming Astonishing run.

Which leads me to believe this may end up being part of a What If event.
