WW: CHICAGO - JOE QUESADA's CUP 'O JOE PANEL

Marvel just began their last panel for the Chicago weekend and it's the traditional Cup 'O Joe panel by Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada.

Among the things Quesada will be discussing there is Alex Ross Marvel "Return", and you can read about that right now by hitting our homepage.

We'll be bringing you a panel report as we have all weekend in a couple of hours, but until then, check out this art (mostly from Brian Bendis' Ultimate Origins) that Marvel is showing off during the panel...

...I'm sorry, but isn't this supposed to be a CoJP about how the Q hates the fact that Peter & MJ are married?

- Terry Moore and Humberto Ramos on Runaways? "As far as I know it's going to be a significant run on the book. We'd like to keep them on the book as long as possible."

Boooooooooooo. I guess I still won't be reading runaways. Bring back BKV before you guys ruin his great series.

I think Blade (and a few other heroes) are tailor made for MAX. If Punisher can do it, so can Blade.

- Where will Ant-Man go? Quesada: "He'll be around, but just the series ends at #12." McCann: "There will be another writer picking up the character."

Quote:
- Will the Ant-Man be on a team in the Marvel Universe? Yes.

Whoo-hoo! Best news yet!

More Inhumans? Definitely - a comic that will follow up on Silent War.
Sweet.

Ultimate Hulk/Iron Man: Warren Ellis and Cary Nord.
Even sweetier.

Can anyone trust that woman? Blast her head off Tony.

Well then only things of any interest there is Ant Man on a team, and Nico limited series.

One thing that hit me was how fast the idea behind Amazing Spiderman is falling apart. They're alread talking about inserting mini series into the fold that dont have to do with the one thing that was the driving force behind it, the ongoing shared story. That just sounds clumsy and in danger of becoming a series of mini series.

- Annihilation Conquest #1: "In November, the villain will be revealed."

- More What If? stories? More What If? stories coming in October.

Quote:
- Will there be a Loners ongoing? Cebulski: "I'm hoping. The next time you see them all is in the Marvel Holiday Special."

- More Great Lakes Avengers? Not now.

- If Warren Ellis is on Astonishing X-Men, what does that mean for Thunderbolts? He's still on Thunderbolts.

There seems obviously nothing new to anounce by Marvel than the Hitch/Millar gig.

No, they're talking about having guest artists and writers coming in and adding to the story - not ignoring everything thats happened before in the series and just writing any old thing.

"At Marvel, we don't have a crisis," Quesada joked, but then said, "this is the kind of thing where we've done a really great job managing and maneuvering in our 40+ years of existence, with the exception of the Peter Parker/Mary Jane marriage, which kind of screwed things up."

Perfect.

I love marvel and i like where the very creative Joe Quesada has helped lead the company but his F'n obsession with the Spider-man marriage oy vey man let it go.

Perfect.

This was a running gag the whole panel. Newsarama made it seem much less funny than it was.

Spider-Man/MJ and Joe's "hatred" of Mary Jane was brought up like, 12 times. lol.

Essential Deadpool. That's the only thing I'm excited about. Well, that and Terry Moore on Runaways, but I already knew that.

Joe Kelly's Deadpool is ESSENTIAL. The whole run.

And thank you to the Newsarama reporter for keeping it short and sweet. I've had a Joe overload today.

This MJ/Peter thing is getting interesting though. Could this be the move that finally gets Joe pushed out the door, and ironically one of the only moves I agree with him on?

Somehow seeing Spider-Woman kissing Iron Man feels like Bendis kissing Millar. That's Bendis' love letter to the Scot.

Maybe Alex Ross at Marvel will mean the end of Ross JSA covers. I'm just tired of them.

What comes next?

Well first comes love...

Then comes marriage...

So I'm guessing an arachnid baby in an armored carriage.
