Post Chart of presidential candidate's positions (both Republican & Democrat)

There's some that I figured people on this board might be interested in. Via BoingBoing.net, it's a massive graphic that shows presidential candidate's basic positions on a variety of issues:

The image was taken from the following flickr link:
http://flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=868063604&size=o

That big link on the bottom links to a interactive HTML version, that highlights the candidate and issue when you rollover it to make it more readable:
http://www.2decide.com/table.htm

Obviously, the various issues are more complex than an bunch of check marks and X's, but it still gives you a basic idea where candidates stand.

Keeping the net neutral will be a big voting issue for me, not that I would vote for a Republican anyway. And amending the constitution to prevent gay marriage is the most absurd thing I can imagine at the moment. Republicans should be ashamed for reducing the national discussion to such a moronic level.

thanks for posting this. Giuliani not liking gay marriage makes me wary of him. But not by much.

I hope Guiliani gets the Republican nod. The rest would really stink to get elected. Too many of them are uneducated or crazy...but I guess that represents our nation.

Just proof I was right supporting Guiliani. Don't agree w/ everything but he gets the major topics right...

Looking at all that, I want to know what FHM, Maxim and Stuff have to say about my candidates.

Because, lumping my candidates into categories has to be the biggest mindless horsecrap that I've ever seen.

I welcome the day I get 4 candidates on my ballot.

I'd like: Bloomburg

I'd prefer (from a party): Richardson

I'll probably get: Obama

I'm holding off choosing a candidate until I know who Angelina is supporting.

Seriously, that's what passes for "political" news nowadays? We're effing doomed.

Newt Gingrich (I know, of all people) had a great point the other day: the presidential campaigns are starting ridiculously early. He had commented how anyone's stance on some issues could change over two years, yet because candidates are starting campaigning 18-24 months prior to the elections, they're going to be raked over the coals for flipflopping.

It's almost to the point that I wish a dark horse candidate would get the nom for each party, leaving egg on the faces of the all-too-early birds and their fundraising nonsense.

Ron Paul continues to be the only reasonable choice. real Conservatism wins national elections, because the vast majority of Americans live conservative lifestyles. They understand fiscal conservatism because they have to balance their check book every month without waiting gov't assistance to help pay their overspending. They have to keep their kids from being deviants or thieves because they don't want their children getting hurt or going to jail. Americans live that life and respect a straight talking Conservative choice. (I mean REAL conservatives too, not this Neocon horsecrap that Bush & Rove dole out every election cycle to scare the Fundies into going out on election day because two gay men might get married if they don't vote properly.) Reagan won citizens who considered themselves Republicans AND Democrats because he spoke to them in the language they understood from their daily lives. Hell, Clinton got a lot of that vote too by swinging as far to the right as he could when he ran for office. He signed more traditional Republican legislation into law than both Bushes combined.

However, in our pretend two-party system, the GOP will push Rudy, who doesn't play west of the Hudson River or Romney, who doesn't even play in Utah. They are setting up Hillary to take the White House by either incompetance or by design. Probably a bit of both.

Meanwhile Paul keeps winning every Republican debate and Vegas bookmakers rank him as the only GOP candidate that can beat Hills or Obama in the general election. On top of that, he has received over 50% of all campaign contributions made by active military personnel. (That's over half of ALL contributions to every candidate from both parties.) The soldiers know the drill. They know that Paul is their only way home, and back to their families.

ok Obama is my man from the Dems,

and Guiliani and Mccain from Reps. with Guiliani just an inch ahead of mccain, but both their stances on net neutrality and assault weapon bans hurts and makes me go Dem.

but Guiliani vs. Clinton, I might consider voting republican
