Looks like Peter is going to be out of sync with the rest of the Marvel world.

Wow.
If they're splitting up Pete and Mary Jane just so Spidey won't have the ball and chain to worry about when he's fighting Venom or Mysterio, that sucks balls.
Wally West wouldn't do that to Linda...

I hear that a mirror breaks and Spidey gets 10 years bad luck so he has to get it on with Black Cat to compensate. That's what breaks up his marriage.

My guess is Doctor Strange, who is already shown to be a part of the series.

I don't usually make staements like this but, if they bust them up then I don't think I will get Spiderman anymore. It just won't seem like the book I fell in love with anymore...

I have to agree. To me, the relationship between Peter and MJ is a big part of the series. If Marvel breaks them up, the only Spidey I'll be reading anymore is Ultimate Spidey. At least there I can still hope they'll get together in the end.

I'm guessing it's Future Spidey who cashes in his favor from Doctor Strange to rewrite history so that Mary Jane lives her life without Peter as her husband.
I hope I'm wrong, though, because if JMS and Joe Quesada thought the shitstorm of Gwen Stacy willingly having sex with Norman Osborn was bad, they'll never hear the end of wiping out Peter and MJ's marriage...

If it is a divorce (or if they never got married somehow), it'd be interesting to see if it will be a "New Coke" moment for Marvel or if it will be accepted by the fans.

that's actually the theory a friend of mine have been discussing. they keep on talking about breaking Pete and MJ up, and that it's going to be a more light-hearted book. they also keep saying they like Peter young, and the "soap opera" that surrounds him and his cast are what makes the ASM book. i also read Zeb Wells mention bringing back web shooters in a recent interview here (at least i think it was Wells).
so in order to make his identity a secret again, save aunt may, and also have Peter single again (with web shooters?!?), i think it's a safe assumption to say they're turning back the clock on him... possibly through some kind of spell by Dr. Strange. how this will all fit in with the rest of the Marvel U remains to be seen...

you know...."the end of an era" probably just refers to JMS's departure from Amazing Spider-Man.....i believe that will be his final issue

Wait a minute, so the picture itself was glass? That's not very wise, who in their right mind buys a glass picture. Plus, when did he get this made? 'cause you know that's custom and It doesn't seem like he had time during civil war.
"I'd like to get this picture printed on some glass and..oh...by the way...just ignore that costume I'm wearing. It doesn't mean anything"

It's probably MJ's hand in a red glove.
I think it would be pretty interesting if they break them up.I've never been a huge fan of married Pete and this could be the change that would keep me buying the book.
