CABLE & DEADPOOL JOIN THE X-MEN IN THE RACE TO ISSUE #200

Press Release

This summer, after the events of the unforgettable X-Men #200, mutants in the Marvel Universe will become an “Endangered Species,” but what role do the time traveler Cable and the “merc with a mouth” Deadpool play in this crucial moment in mutant history? The surprising answers arrive in Cable & Deadpool #41 & 42, hitting stores this June, featuring the X-Men and showing the events leading up to X-Men #200 from Cable’s unique perspective. Just how have these events changed him? And what happens when Cable comes face to face with Deadpool once more? It’s a story so big that we need two issues in June to tell it all!

That means you get double the dose of the comic that ComixFan’s Alan Bergin described as a series in which, “you can pick it up knowing that you're going to have a good time.”

Like the early tie-ins to such recent mega-hits such as Civil War and World War Hulk, Cable & Deadpool #41 & 42 are going to be hot—don’t miss out on the issues that will redefine this series and provide the lead-in to the huge X-Men #200! With direct ties to this special anniversary issue, and new light shed on the recent major events in X-Men, Cable & Deadpool #41 & 42 are must-reads for X-fans!

CABLE & DEADPOOL #41 (APR072335) and #42 (APR072336)

Excellent! Love the book, and as much as i like it as a stand-alone thing i'm pretty ecstatic that it is crossing over with Carey's X-Men for the start of Endangered Species.
No more mutants indeed.

I love the way Reilly Brown draws Domino.
She reminds me that anime character, Battle Angel Alita
but his Cable - yikes, after seeing the way he looks in Adjectiveless, his Cable is kinda of... ow.
But anyway, I really hope Adjectiveless has the courtesy to mention Cable & Deadpool instead of just Cable and Deadpool contributing but getting nothing back but a storyline diversion.

wait, is that MORG?

Thumbs down

Two of Liefeld's crappiest character creations (that I hate the most), together in one book.

I would almost wish this title got cancelled, but then they'd be appearing in other Marvel titles I'm reading!!!

That artwork's pretty bad. Not pretty. Bad. But not bad like Michael Jackson. Bad like not good. Although, like Michael Jackson, Cable seems to have a magic disappearing glove. Who buys this book?

You hush your mouth. This book is a lot of fun. And thankfully Liefeld's not drawing it, although his out of proportion art would probably work with the over the top humor. But we'd only get 1 issue a year.

But I'm just talking about Shaft...I mean Cable & Cesspool (as my LCS guy lovingly refers this book as).

Heh. I feel sorry for people who wont read books just because of some odd fixation with a creator who hasnt been involved with a character for years.

But then again I'll never understand this craze of trashing someone on the internet just cause you can. I guess those people just have a general negative outlook on life.

I love me some C and D. But the last issue was horrid. Too much of cable is never a good thing. So i'll skip next issue and pick the title back up after the tie in is over.

What a world we live in where a book that hasn't even come out yet is a mega-hit.

Storyline diversion? Entire series diversion...Cable's tech powers? gone...Cable's island nation? gone...Cable's European country? gone. Cable's plan to save the future and mesianic vision? gone.

it has nothing to do w/Liefeld personally (I like some of his other creations/work), but the characters themselves. It just so happens that the same guy created both abominations!

"general negative outlook on life"?!? I see that psych 101 course is really paying off!

If you can't see that Deadpool is one of the funnest characters in comics, i do hope someone (Wade) stabs you in the eye.
His first series, then Agent X, and now this one. They have all been fun to read. I'm not a big fan of Cable heavy issues myself (too much like Jesus), but their interactions are priceless.

Deadpool #11 - "With Great Power Comes Great Coincidence"
One of the greatest Marvel comics of all time.

Love this book but I am a bit disappointed recently that Marvel Editorial haven't allowed for Wade and Nathan to be in the same sandbox. I thought what Fabian did a stellar job of was pairing the two of these unlikeliest of friends/partners and playing them off one another.

At the moment it reads like Cable for 3 issues then Deadpool for another 3. Really takes some of the fun out of the book.

In which case my comment does not refer to you and you have nothing to be defensive about.

My thoughs exactly. One of the reasons this book is so good is because of the interchanges between Wade and Cable.

Also as alot of the time I dont read the solicitations (because they often spoil something) I dont know when its gonna be a Cable or a Deadpool centric issue. I think they should be put a those little faces like they do on the X-Books to say whose going to be in that issue because the cover is sometimes misleading.

I agree. The three-on/three-off doesn't really play to the book's strengths and it shows that as the characters are handled right now in this book Cable needs 'Pool more than Wade needs Nathan to keep me interested. But they work better together and Fabian does an excellent job with the interplay.
