I'm willing to give this a shot, but the art (other than the Golden cover) isn't particularly solid.

I'm going to give this one a try also. Fred Van Lente seems to be making a name for himself and I've heard that the Adventures line is pretty decent.

I need to read this series so I can have a decent and moral Iron Man.

Yeah, I've been reading Marvel Adventures Avengers, and I keep going "Oh, god, I've missed this Tony Stark: Ubergeek engineer who takes joy in inventing cool things instead of oppressing his former friends."

The art is kind of blah, but I'm still looking forward to this.
The more Iron Man the better.

The Iron Man title is a mess, and they publish another title?

Very nice preview. It reads like a good introduction to IM's little corner of the universe. Cordeiro's art is nothing spectacular but he's pretty good. He's got the basics right and has a nice, attractive style. Good choice.

How is it not "particularly solid"? He can draw IM's armor and cool tech stuff in general, has a good handle on anatomy, expressions, backgrounds, buildings, etc. He's no George Perez but he's no Rob Liefeld, either.

My problem with the Marvel Adventures line is that they LOOK and FEEL like classic Marvel, but they read like Johnny DC books. That is, they say "all ages" but in reality, the stories are simple to the point of being childish. They lack any subplots and basically exist in a vacuum... which is fine, for what it is, but it's SO CLOSE to what I want to read, but falls just short.
I was hoping they'd offer a slightly more classic Marvel approach, sort of like what Tom DeFalco does with Spider-Girl.
Still, it's good to see they are expanding the line; I guess it had an audience out there.

All Ages or Young Ages?
I've also found myself drawn to the Marvel Adventures line by the classic charm, but I do find some of the stories to be a bit TOO simple, even considering the fact that they are supposed to be "safe for kids". I seem to remember that the "Dark Phoenix Saga" was safe for kids when I was one of those kids, but I don't think Marvel would try a story like that in this line of books.
Still, having said that, the Marvel Adventures Avengers book is fast becoming my favorite monthly title. The FF book is moving up pretty quickly, too.

It depends on the writer. Jeff Parker is *really* good at doing the double levels of humor so that it works for both kids and adults. Some of the other writers, it's more strictly kiddy.

I agree, so far Parker and Van Lente are my favorite writers for the line, so I have high hopes for the Iron Man book.

Wrong Question. This is within its own continuity.

Looking good, but Marvel Adventures HULK will definitely be the MA title to look out for.

I was reading an old issue of Iron Man and was thinking 'this would make a great comic book!'
They should get right on that!
Marvel's really messed up in my mind. They've got the original Iron Man that doesn't seem that much like Iron man, they've the Ultimate Iron Man that doesn't come out very often, and they've got this.
I didn't read three different versions of Iron man when I saw them in the store, I read the one and only. You confuse new readers when you pull this stuff.

less is not always more?
I, for one, welcome more options when it comes to how these characters are presented. The fact that these (sometimes) wildly different versions of Iron Man (for example) are published in distinct "lines" of books allows me to choose which interpretation of Iron Man I prefer and stick with it. Otherwise, I'd be stuck not buying any new Iron Man comics until the pendulum swung back toward my tastes in the "one and only" Iron Man book. Personally, I hope the Marvel Adventures line takes hold! I'd like to see the Ultimate and "616" lines doing well, too, in fact!
