I'm starting to read Gotham Central, I can see similarities between it and Checkmate. I hope Rucka stays on Checkmate for a long time and the book starts to get more recognition.

Really been enjoying these interviews so far, I will probably post some bullet points for people that can't listen later.

Thumbs up

Good stuff, thanks again John. The previous two installments were very enjoyable and that's coming a guy who doesn't follow DC.

1) Comic book readers pick up more of his novels than the other way around, there's people that don't know where to buy comics.

2) Queen and Country, inspiration was always British ... Sandbaggers

3) New Atticus book coming, final proofs done.

4) Tara Chase, named after a woman he went to high school with. Stongest influence William Gibsons Molly (Wow I love that character)

5) Strengths, emotional truth of a story, making a character believable sometimes to a fault. Weaknesses are legion, consistently don't go big enough especially in comics. Not comfortable doing large scale battles. Was OK in Gotham Central with Ed, maybe hurt WW and Superman. Over analyzes drove Mark and Geoff nuts on 52. Batman Superman stuff will be different. Not as fast as he wishes he was.

6) Fifty Two, Geoff, Grant and Mark did heavy lifting on the last few weeks. Do think it's successful, thanks readers for sticking with them.

7) Plugs Dan Simmons, Phases of Gravity.

8) Had to teach himself to write during the day.

9) DC Exclusive up at the end of the summer, hasn't decided what he's going to do.

10) Likes the new Doctor Who.

Loads of other stuff that you just can't bullet point.

First off I'm going to start by saying I love Rucka's work.

That being said. I wonder how many times John Suintres nodded off during these podcasts as Rucka went off on his tangents. Rucka seems to not only go in depth on what he's saying but he goes overly in depth on what he's saying. He even said himself that he lost the point he was getting to or what the question was.

Listening to the Bendis sessions and the Rucka debriefs are like night and day...but both very informative.

I haven't had a chance to listen yet, but I think this question came from me, so that is cool.

I've also said this before.

And I think Hulk was his sister's favorite character to boot.

So that would be cool.

This has been a hotbutton issue around here. The answer, unfortunately, is no.

For starters this was a 3 part interview at about 1 hour per part. I can only imagine how many words and hours it would be to transcribe.
