JLA #1, #2 SENT BACK TO PRESS

Press Release
With JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #2 and the JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #1 Third Printing both sold out at DC Comics, these issues are being sent back to press for new printings.

"This is an amazing testament to the hard work everyone on this book put in," says Group Editor Eddie Berganza. "It started with Brad Meltzer, of course, and then Ed Benes did an amazing job on the pencils, Sandra Hope enhanced it in ink, Rob Leigh complimented it with his lettering, and Alex Sinclair made it all sing with his color. Then it was all wrapped up under an amazing cover by Michael Turner and Peter Steigerwald. As the first reader of all this, I was saying 'wow' every step of the way. Thank you, readers and retailers, for your acknowledgement time and time again!"

The JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #1 Fourth Printing (MAR078121) will feature a recolored version of the variant cover by Michael Turner. The JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #2 Second Printing (MAR078122) will feature a pencils-only version of the variant cover by Turner. Both are scheduled to arrive in stores on May 16.

To ensure delivery of these issues on May 16, retailers must place orders by Sunday, May 6; please note that quantities will be limited and may sell out before May 16. Retailers may order the issue by contacting their Diamond Customer Service Representative or DC Sales Representative, or by email at reorders@diamondcomics.com.

The first arc was a little slow but I like where things are headed.

4th Printing? I thought only zombies and mouse books go to 4th printings nowadays.

That's crazy that people are still buying issue #1 when the series has already hit #8.

What do you mean, corrected? Was it screwed up? If so, how?

It might explain why I was sooo confused by issue #7.

One of the pages of #7 was out of order. I think they got confused about which side of the fold-out it was supposed to be one.

Reprints of Comics now around 10 months old...Wow, what a precedent to set!
Guess Turner really must need the money after all...

Um, Direct Market customers who didn't read the first two issues of this series but still want to and haven't been able to find copies yet? You do realize there's a trade of this thing coming, right? And that the story is written for the trade, so you'll enjoy it much, much more reading the entire story arc in one sitting instead of these tidbits of story, right?

Since you seem to have no clue what this article is about, I'll be happy to fill you in.
It's about a comic that is popular enough to warrant a fourth printing, not setting precedent. It's also about a team of people creating said poular book, not one creater (who must be fantastcally rich if he doesn't need any more money).

Here, you can have your back.

Cool

I guess the fans didn't get the memo that those were bad comics.

Meltzer says they're doing all they can to keep issues 1-7 in stock so that when Free Comic Book Day comes around, buyers won't have to wait for the trade, they can just snag copies from the store.

So yeah, there is a good reason to reprint them.

It's a reprint, what would you rather they do?
