DAVE DORMAN JOINS GNOMON WORKSHOP

Press Release
World-renowned comic book illustrator, movie production artist and creator Dave Dorman is joining Hollywood’s Gnomon Workshop to teach others his award winning art techniques. Dorman will be videotaped creating his artwork for an instructional DVD during a live workshop, along with fellow art luminaries including Brom and Stephan Martiniere. Dorman is an Eisner Award winning artist--the comic book world’s equivalent to an Oscar award—for his work on Alien: Tribes. The Gnomon Workshop’s held the weekend of March 31 and April 1, 10:00-7:00 pm, Sound Stage 15, next door to the Gnomon School of VFX, 1015 N. Cahuenga Blvd., Hollywood, California.

Oil painter Dorman, most famous for his Star Wars art, is also a familiar name to fans of his Indiana Jones, Alien, Predator, Alien v. Predator, G.I. Joe, King Kong, Magic: The Gathering and World of Warcraft artwork. Dorman has done everything from character development to toy design, magazine covers and packaging art in addition to private commissions. Fan George Lucas owns over 90 of Dorman’s original oil paintings of Star Wars and Indiana Jones work. Dorman’s own project, www.wastedlands.com, is currently an active property in development.

The Gnomon Workshop is an industry leader in professional training for artists in the entertainment and design industries who cannot attend the hands-on courses offered at the Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Hollywood, California. Their DVD library offers training by more than 60 professional instructors on all forms of artwork and media.
