SUPERSHOWDOWN: Flash vs. Spider-man
I don't have a script for this one, but I've debated it a few times with a couple guys on here.
I think Spider-man could win. There are a lot of things that would give Flash the ability to win, but in the end, I just think Spidey could pull it off. The one thing I always fall back to is that look at the villains that give Flash so much trouble, if those guys could beat Flash, spiderman sure as hell could.
But that's just my opinion, I may be wrong. What's yours?

At first I was going to vote Flash, because if he applied his powers right he could take down pretty much anyone. But then again, Flash's main villains are assholes with a boomerang or a freeze gun versus a guy who can turn intangible and move at the speed of light and it ends up a pretty even fight.
And, since Flash can't really fly, as long as Spidey keeps swinging around building to building, Flash couldn't really hit him. Or if his spider-sense lets him throw a punch that Flash literally runs into.
So I'm undecided.

As much of a fan of Spider-man that I am, he dosn't stand a chance, Flash disables him before his fingers hit the triggers on his web shooters.
That is unless you mean the Flash from the JLA cartoon, Spider-Man kicks that sissy losers ass into next week.

This situation begs the question: Which is faster Spidey's spidersense or The Flash?
If spidersense is faster than Spidey can dodge anything the Flash can throw at him and neutralizing his speed.
If The Flash is faster (most likely) than he is the obviuos winner, pummeling Spidey 100 hundred times before his first web blast.

Spider-Man's spider sense goes off just a split second before Flash's supersonic punch hits him and knocks him out. Fight over.

Flash. Spider-Man is awesome no doubt but Wally moves faster than thought so I don't see his Spidey sense doing much for warning him. If this was Wally West before he fought Professor Zoom when his top was speed of sound then Spidey could take him but not the light speed Flash of today.

again with the spidey sense, radar sense, sixth sense arguement
nobody uses logic on these boards anymore. Everyone bases their decision on their favorite character. blah, blah, blah, blah
the spidey sense tells him something is wrong. it doesnt tell him where its coming from, what it is, when its coming, who it is, etc. etc.
all Flash has to do is pick up good old Petey run across the ocean and drop him in the middle of it.
Most DC vs Marvel bouts go DC's way simply because DC characters are meant to be the ultimate hero whereas the Marvel characters are flawed yet still fight the good fight.

Yeah, but Spidey's spider-sense is actually a rudimentary clairavoyance, so it doesn't matter how fast or far away Flash is, it's going to go off a second or two before Flash actually does it no matter what happens. The question is if Spider-Man can comprehend the warning quick enough to throw a punch into the air in advance.

spidey is my absolute favorite character, but super-speed is super-speed. period. spidey will be in a relative stand-still compared to flash, and even if his spider-sense is twice as fast as flash, his reflexes still aren't.
and although everyone makes a good argument that most of flash's villians have been some lame, knuckleheads - in theory, flash would win.

Since people brought up alternate versions of the Flash(where his speed varies from sound to light) how about an alternate Spiderman. I was thinking of symbiote Spiderman.Since the symbiote increases Spiderman's powers I think he'll prove a better adversary. If that fails the symbiote will leave Spidey for the superior Flash therby corrupting him and leaving Spidey with the last laugh.
Symbiote Flash now that's good.

Debateable. Spider-Man usually dodges attacks in fights running on instinct, letting his 6th sense do the fighting for him, which is how he's able to heckle them.

Ultimate hero that loses to Captain Cold? Yeah right.
But yeah, this fight would pretty much come down to the first punch. Knowing these two though they'd probably knock each other out in the first second of the fight and wake up a couple hours later to get bitched at by Superman/Captain America.

Now that would not work out. All those sonic booms the Flash probably causes would kill the symbiote.

True but only since Johns got his hands on him. Before he was kinda lame. Now Zoom there's a guy who's pretty much always been a great evil prick.

Spider sense would definitely not save spiderman. Even if he 'could' detect the Flash coming, he wouldn't be fast enough to dodge him. No way can Spiderman move his body parts at the speed of sound, much less the speed of light. Flash wins.

Sorry, as much as I love Spidey, Flash wins easy. He can run at the Speed of Light. How can Spidey compete with that? Willpower? Yeah, right.

Since when does Flash have super strength. You forget that Spidey has the proportionate strength of 100 men.. or.. something like that...
He could pretty much pick up Flash midway through his little speedy run and fling him head first into a brick wall. Bam. Its over.

since when do u need super strength to pick up a dude? Flash would be moving so fast Spidey wouldnt know what was goin on till he was in the water... superstrength and agility does not mean super speed...

Not to get too anal about this, but speed of light is pretty damned fast. No way in heck Spidey could even see the Flash to touch him at that speed. It's simple physics...well, as simple as they get in comics. If Flash were inclined, he could beat Spidey senseless with a mallet before Spidey could even think one thought. Flash can work in picoseconds! That's 10 to the minus 12 seconds!!!!
