So far...I'm UNimpressed.
Personally, I wish the DCU would reflect a more "mature" tone in how its characters carried themselves. Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate light-hearted character interactions like the next fan, but (in this
Trinity preview) I don't think it's very appropriate for the
Flash to be acting as juvenile as his children (I'm referring to how he acts "
giddy" from seeing the "Trinity" in his hometown). He's acting this way in the middle of fighting crime? I expect that "childishness" from
Plastic Man, maybe even
Booster Gold and the new
Blue Beetle, but...the Flash? The man who went to-to-toe with
Superboy Prime and survived?
Yeah, yeah I know...
I need to lighten up.
I guess it's just me, but I don't particularly care for a
Spiderman-behavior type acting Flash. I fondly remember (
and long for the return of) the
Wally West/Kid Flash level of seriousness that I came to appreciate and admire during the
Wolfman/Perez run of
The New Titans, more specifically the entire Trigon arc that made Wally grow to the man and hero he was always meant to be. Now that he has kids, it would seem to me that he'd written to be more serious, but I guess not.
Haha...I know, it's just comics
Anyway...
