CHO RE-UPS WITH MARVEL

by Benjamin Ong Pang Kean

Nobody could draw Mary Jane, Shanna the She-Devil, Spider-Woman or Wolverine drinking from the friggin’ jug the way Frank Cho draws them. And for those of you who can’t get enough of Cho’s version of the scrappy Canadian mutant making the milk bad for everyone else, there’s good news – Frank just saved a lot…wait…Cho’s not going to be drawing any other company’s characters chugging milk any time soon.

The writer/artist has informed Newsarama that he has renewed his exclusive contract with Marvel. It will now run through March 2008.

One question, however, begs to be answered: What’s going to happen to Liberty Meadows?

wow, that art is BEAUTIFUL!

(pssst... first post!)

I'm wondering, why are they making Wolverine more of an a-hole in New Avengers, than in his own books or the X titles?

With Frank's art everybody always focuses (perhaps rightly so) on the boobies and everything, but I love his work for the storytelling — so few "hot" artists these days have mastered the craft of "directing" the perfect flow of images to hit all the right beats, and Frank is really a master of the craft.

And on top of that, there's the boobies.

Cho's women look like they can handle themselves in a fight moreso than Balent's or JSC's women would be. Inside and outside, if you know what I mean.

Now this is some good news. Cho's work is fantastic. Here's hoping for some X-Men work from him!

God, I hope he gets to draw Ms. Marvel! Carol Danvers never looked better! Just re-team him with Jason Keith, and all will be right in the comics world.

Why do i get the feeling that Wolverine is going to be the first person kicked out of the New Avengers?

Any company'd be happy to have Cho working for them exclusively. What talent this man has. That is some sweet, sweet art.

Dude, all I know is that I can't wait for this Ronin story in NEW AVENGERS to wrap up so we can get to some Spider-Womany goodness Frank Cho-style.

Awesome. Big fan of Frank Cho, so to see him keep drawing some of my favorite characters is great .

Congrats to Mr. Cho. I pick up anything drawn by this man, so looks like ill be buying alot more of Marvel, which is fine by me! My dream is for a Black Cat ongoing, written by Millar and drawn by Frank Cho.

That's Klaw, master of sound, apparently back to his original Kirby design after recently appearing in Black Panther looking totally different and possesing a revised history. Continuity contishmuity I guess.

Really like this kind of news, people all agree on the quality of his work and there's no bashing. I wish both Cho and us the best which is surely to come

There's no bashing because he draws figures well.

That doesn't mean everybody has to love it.

Cho's a fine artist, there's no denying that. But his obvious ... preoccupation with certain "visual elements" too often detracts attention from the overall quality of his work.
