Image Comics has provided Newsarama with a full five-page story from March’s
Hector Plasm: De Mortuis one shot coming in March. Written by Benito (
Tales from the Bully Pulpit) Cereno and illustrated by Nate Bellegarde, the 48-page one shot collects and adds to the stories of Hector Plasm.
“The book itself is a collection of short stories that take our hero Hector from a tiny European village through the British Isles and Japan on to India and Canada and all through the American West and South as he battles ghosts, spectral hounds, demons, witches, animated statues, and one mummy,” Cereno told Newsarama. “Learn the true origins of the man who's here to save your afterlife as the chance circumstances of his birth lead him into a world of gypsies, magicians, undead rock 'n' rollers, and sorority girls.
“And here's the solicitation text:”
Even ghosts tell stories...and the name whispered in hushed tones over the dying embers of campfires past is that of the drifter, the conman, the shaman, the witch doctor, the exorcist...HECTOR PLASM.
HECTOR PLASM: DE MORTUIS chronicles the adventures of Hector Plasm, a modern-day member of an ancient cult whose duties dictate that he roam the earth to protect the living from the dead...and occasionally to protect the dead from the living. DE MORTUIS collects Hector's previous appearances from INVINCIBLE and WESTERN TALES OF TERROR as well as over 30 pages of all-new chilling adventures.
