RASKIN'S INDUSTRY OF WAR RETURNS @ DESPERADO

Press Release

In 2004 Jordan Raskin’s Industry of War debuted in two 16-page installments in the back of the Mark Texeira’s Image Comics title, Pscythe, but was never completed. It is currently making the rounds through Hollywood under the watchful eye of Alien/Total Recall/Minority Report co-creator, writer and producer, Ron Shusett. Now, one year later, Raskin and Industry of War are back and will see print this December from Desperado Publishing.

In Industry of War, two undercover military agents are charged with the responsibility of hunting down missing malfunctioning experimental weaponry created for the foot soldier, which mistakenly gets into the hands of the general public. All hell breaks loose when the agents discover the latest weapon on their list was programmed with an assassination mission during the first Gulf War before being shelved for its malfunctioning design. Years later, it’s mistakenly found by a ‘reformed’ and recently paroled ex-gang member. Its flawed design drives him insane as it uses him to complete its long awaited mission while protecting him from various gangs and police who want him dead. The agents must track him down and stop him, unravel the details of the assassination plot, while uncovering the conspiracy behind a Gulf War cover up.

Industry of War is a 72-page, black and white graphic novel featuring story and art by Raskin. The graphic novel contains the first two 16-page preview stories from Pscythe along with 40 brand new, never-before-seen pages.

“It’s been a long time since the first incarnation of Industry of War saw print, too long, actually,” noted Raskin. “But thanks to Desperado, I finally get the chance to tell the story I’ve wanted to tell. This graphic novel is only the beginning of the story and other graphic novels will follow. A large reason for the delay has been my writing duties for the screenplay adaptation with Ron Shusett. I fully plan on telling the entire story in a series of releases which will largely follow the acts of the script. Each book will be a satisfying read.”

Industry of War is still available for order through Diamond by using this order code: SEP051667
