MORE SPIDER-MAN: THE OTHER VARIANT COVERS
Following up on our story last week, Marvel has provided Newsarama with a look at two more of the upcoming 2nd print variant covers to the concluding chapters of Spider-Man: The Other - “Spider-Man 2009” for Amazing Spider-Man #527 and “Wrestler Peter Parker” for Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #4.
Both will be on-sale 1/11, the same day “Cosmic Spider-Man” ( Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #3) and “Spider-Armor” ( Marvel Knights Spider-Man #21) arrive in stores.
The first three of those 2nd printings can be ordered in unlimited quantities by retailers, while “Wrestler Peter Parker”/ Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #4 can be ordered on a 1 to 8 incentive basis, as will the 2nd printings of the final two concluding chapters, with variant covers still to be named.
As reported last week, Marvel will be compiling requests from retailers through Thursday and letting their suggestions decide what Spider-Man will appear on the final cover. While retailers may have the final say, Newsarama still wants to know what you think. So based on your suggstions we’ve compiled a list of ten “other” Spider-Man’s that could be featured on a cover, and we’re asking our readers to vote for their favorite.

I think it's cool that they're letting fans pick covers, though I would have liked a Slingers option. But whatever...
Come on Spider-Ham!!

Spider-Ham would be cool... but I would love to see Spidey in the Spider-Buggy. How the hell can Wieringo fit all of that on the cover - that's why it's a must-have for me.
On another note, I love the 2099 cover.

You, my friend, are either up very, very early...
...or you forgot to go to bed last night.
As for me, I should be at work!

I'm down for some bacon.
Wouldn't it be diabolical to just have an issue with all 12 covers on the one spine?

Same here. My vote went to Electro-insulated Spidey, from a very under rated and long forgotten Electro story line. Spideys suit was pretty snazzy.

No offense, Sunless, but I'd willing to bet a lot of people spit out their coffee when they read that statement later this morning in the States.

Agreed, and Spider Carnage would have been my second choice.

The bacon may be cool...
...insulated Spidey was very cool...
...Spider-Carnage was excellent...
...but let's see how Wieringo can fit the Spider-Buggy into that cover image...
...you know you want to.

I voted for just plain Peter Parker, which seems just plain logical to me.
Am I being too rigid in my thinking that these should all be variations on Peter? How does Porker enter into it? It's a completely different character. I have nothing against Ham per se (although I do prefer chicken), but it just seems wrong in my mind.
Besides, if they used Spider-Ham, the character outline of the original drawing would have to be compromised completely, which up to this point has remained true throughout with only minor changes to accurately accommodate each variation.
And, if they did use Spider-Ham, the tentacles and pumpkin bombs in the background would have to be changed to strips of bacon and rotten eggs.
Thad ain't riiight.

spider carnage!
although i'd rather a slingers option... all four of them on one cover would be great, failing that, any one of them would also be fantastic.
... still waiting for that slingers revival i've been dreaming about.. and a new "hood" series....

Ham would be kind of silly, but then, the paper bag Spider Man is my favourite so far.
I've said it before though, why does it have to be the same cover over and over again? That must be the point, but it feels lazy.
