Artxilla Tatsy Treats cover - click to open larger image Do you like preview art here on Newsarama? No, I mean do you really like preview art here on Newsarama? Good, because have we got a preview for you…

Last month we spoke to members of the “Artxilla” art studio (which includes Ed McGuinness, Lesean Thomas, Keron Grant and Sanford Greene) as well as 12 Gauge Comics Keven Gardner to talk about the publisher’s July-“Shotgun Summer” offering, Artxilla Tatsy Treats, a 64-page sketchbook featuring images from all the Artxilla members.

This month we’re just showing you some pretty pictures … and lots of ‘em. So make yourself comfortable, as always, click on the images to open larger versions and enjoy browsing the art of Artxilla…

Re: ARTXILLA TASTY TREATS SKETCHBOOK

Why do I look at this art and wish that Ed McGuinness could stop drawing stuff for DC and do stuff like this instead?

Oh right. Because it's more interesting to read NEW stuff than the same old recycled superhero stories over and over.

sigh I guess everybody's gotta pay the bills.

I was tenatively planning to get this project. But now, I am definitely going to get it. I wish Newsarama could always have as many art samples for every project that is reviewed or discussed.

Hey, no fair! Isn't there some sort of of rule about showing up up other artists in public forums? I'm reporting these guys to the Brotherhood of Comic Creatists for showboating and making all the rest of us look bad!

Seriously, This looks awesome. Everyone is bringing their A game.

I've already got the black and white convention version put out last year by Mainstay Studios, but the colors in these are sweet. And it seems to have even MORE material in it now.

I'm looking forward to seeing this.

Wow, very impressive stuff guys, this is great. Seriously, I can't get enough of this sort of thing. But calling it a "sketchbook"? Pa-lease, this is all finished completed color art, it's an "Art Of" book, it's hardly a sketchbook.

Hope you are joking.

Even artists need to take a quick break.

Maybe he should give up sleep also.

That and the "NEW" stuff never seems to last or catch on. I don't see why Ed can't introduce some of this stuff in the DC Universe though... Not everyone has to live on the same planet to be in the same universe right?!

Oh, and I love the art and love Newsarama! Thanks for all the work you guys put in for us fanboys.

Thumbs up

I have been saying for awhile just how disgustingly talented these guys are, hopefully the sketchbook shows everyone else the things I see. It is also nice to see the comic book artist community heralding this here, look at some of the very talented artists who have posted here; a great show of how fantastic this is when such talented guys are commenting on it.
