BRIEFLY STATED LANDS CATWOMAN LOUNGEWEAR LICENSE
Press Release
Briefly Stated, Inc., an apparel industry licensee recognized by the Licensing Industry Merchandisers' Association (LIMA) as 2002 Entertainment Licensee of the Year Award, has been awarded the Catwoman(TM) license by Warner Bros. Consumer Products to create Women's, Juniors' and Tween loungewear and daywear inspired by the upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures film.
The sleepwear line includes cami-tops, boxer shorts, sleep tees, dorm shirts, raglan tops, lounge pants, and tank tops. The daywear line includes cami-tops, boxers, boxer briefs, panties and thongs. The line has a sassy feeling with glow in the dark prints, hints of glitter, and glamour appeal.
On July 30, 2004 Halle Berry brings to life the adventures of Patience Price in the Warner Bros. Pictures film, Catwoman, based on the DC Comics character. French director Pitof leads an all-star cast, including Ms. Berry, Sharon Stone, Benjamin Bratt, and Frances McDormand.
Catwoman's popularity has remained steady since she appeared as "the Cat" in issue #1 of Batman in 1940. Halle Berry's Catwoman is sure to attract loads of cat-calls for this famous, feisty kitten. Briefly Stated's design team worked to capture the essence of Catwoman with its inspired line of sleepwear and daywear that appeals to teens and women who admire the power of this legendary character.
"The Catwoman line of sleepwear and daywear offers a new twist on the classic fashion sense of the ever-popular character," said Maribeth Towers-Toth, Vice President Apparel and Accessories for Warner Bros. Consumer Products. "Briefly Stated has captured the feisty feline appeal in all of the new Catwoman inspired apparel."
"The edgy style of Catwoman is a perfect fit with Briefly Stated's overall goal and portfolio," said Alexandra Richmond, Vice President, Licensing & Marketing for Briefly Stated. "We anticipate that the Catwoman line will be a tremendous success."
Briefly Stated's Catwoman sleepwear and daywear lines for Women, Juniors and Tweens will be available in major retail stores beginning June 2004.

Briefly Stated, Inc... has been awarded the Catwoman(TM) license... to create Women's, Juniors' and Tween loungewear and daywear inspired by the upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures film.
What? No bizarro earred helmets?
Will the Tween daywear have pre ripped thighs?
Can we all say "train wreck"?
(Full disclosure: I said "train wreck" about X-Men 1 before I saw it so my track record is less than perfect)

I can smell the reeking stench from this movie already.....
this might do more damage to comic book movies than that Captain America flick starring that Salinger guy did......

Ah, you're just jealous because you'll never get a woman to show you her Catwoman underwear.
Because all comic book readers are loser virgins you see.
And all that loser virgin anger would be poured into vitirol towards...... aw screw it, you get the joke.
On the other hand, comic book loser virgin transvestites must be thrilled!

I know you were probably making a joke, but the Cap movie did no damage because it was made for $20 and no one ever saw it! And believe me, there is no way this is going to do more damage than Batman and Robin. And yet, after B&R, we got X-Men, Spider-Man, all the other Marvel stuff, a new Batman movie that jettisons the old crap, so apparently damage is easily controlled.

I saw the Cap movie... or at least I think I did. No, I saw 15 minutes and flipped to SNL... And I think I could get my gf to wear catwoman underwear, just wouldn't want her to wear anything like that Halle Berry bondage suit, something tasteful like Julie Newmar wore and we'll talk.

To all those complaining about the film: You'd better accept the fact that CATWOMAN has already earned a place in this summer's top grossing films before you make a fool of yourselves!
If a disaster like DAREDEVIL grossed $100m then it's safe to say that CATWOMAN will easily beat easily that mark! The hype is already colossal! And if anything it's impossible to stink more than DD!

Most of the hype I've heard is how incredibly bad it is, or what I like to call gigli quality hype. Now Gigli got a lot of hype and made about $22 plus the popcorn bennifer bought...

The only hype GIGLI got was about the relationship of Afflek and Lopez!
And it seems that the only people insisting that the CATWOMAN movie will suck is the same old bunch of comicbook geeks who make a fuss over the fact that is only losely based on the DC Comics character! But the rest of the world couldn't care less and come July 30th you will realise how different the millions who go to the movies think from your average dozen or so fanboys!

I don't know where you guys have been looking, but all of the "hype" I have seen has been negative. No one wants Catwoman to look like a army chic from a porno. The story they are using is a rip-off of the one used in Batman Returns. They are throwing out Catwoman's whole history. That is why I am asking for a boycott.
