...Son of Man was the one where Constantine resurrected the Mafioso's dead kid by stuffing him with a demon with a three-foot cock, right?

Good to see early support for this title. Sales haven't been great on the monthlies, unfortunately. I hope this sells really well in the trades. It's a great series.

But I liked Milligan's The Minx, and that was cancelled after 8 issues. And Vaughan's Swamp Thing. And Flinch.

If this was any other book, I'd be stomped and pouting like a baby wanting to know why I'm buying it on a monthly basis instead...

Every thing you siad except the bit about the three foot cock.
(Vertigo never goes below the belt on anything that is not painted)

John was forced to reserect the dead kid and getting him possed was the only way now it is 20 years later and a demon now runs the English mafia.

unlike Preacher the most graphic seens are sublimenal things like bloody eyelids and a pare of finger nail clippers laying on the floor after some was sent to get an answer from a person.

the fact I get the creeps just thinking about it is only one of the reason I liked the story.

GOOD DAY

I had a hard time with Minx I found it confusing.

I'd like to see DC follow up Grant Morrison's Animal Man with a reprinting Millagan's run it rank as the sigel most bizar comic story line I have ever read.

GOOD DAY

I agree. Without a doubt the most anticipated book I read each month. If I knew for sure this was a sure thing for each arc - at 0.066 a page - that's a hellava good deal - I might drop the monthly.

I remember hearing people complain that the latest Y trade wasn't being solicited fast enough. Now the reason is known - it's collecting up to the issue that just came out last (this?) month. I love how DC trades don't have any kind of size quote or arc quota. They just collect it how it works and let the writers tell their stories as they will.

Actually 17 comes out in December. And that's the cool thing about this announcement. DC seems to have timed it to coincide with what is coming out soon or has been released recently(with the exception of Hellblazer), probably in an attempt to get some people to jump on the monthly with the next arc. For Fables, number 19, which begins a new arc, just came out this month and can probably be reordered from your retailer. The other two have their new arcs starting in January. So fans can jump on any of these three titles knowing that there will be TPBs to catch them up on the rest of the story.

Now THAT'S how much a trade paperback should cost. I hope that those who missed these issues (which should still be available) buys this trade, as it's probably the best new Vertigo series of the year.

Thumbs up More Ennis Hellblazers!!

I'm glad DC is finally getting around to producing my Ennis Hellblazers. I hope they get around to printing the 18 issues they skipped from the first run as well.

Great news about "Son of Man"...

...but I wish DC would have surprised us with a new Morrison DOOM PATROL trade (featuring the Brotherhood of Dada), SANDMAN MYSTERY THEATER, or another SHADE, THE CHANGING MAN volume.

Dang, I passed on picking up Fables: The Last Castle, because I figured it would be collected in the next trade.

...Actually, I was re-reading that arc a few weeks back. While you never get to see how hung the demon is, it is specifically stated that he's got a member that long, and one of the Mafiosos finds this out first hand towards the end of the arc.

Me, too. No big deal -- several local shops still have a copy. I'll have to remember to pick it up next time.

I'm assuming it will be contained in the trade that comes after this one. Like a poster said above, the current issue (18 or 19, i forget which) starts a brand new storyline. I don't want to spoil it for you if u haven't read the issue, but a major character from Last Castle figures prominently in this issue (and perhaps the rest of the arc). You could say that this next fables arc is a continuation of Last Castle.

Some good choices here. The Fables and Y trades are no-brainers, but i'm glad to see Human Target get some attention.

I'd hoped it would too, I guess it's a good thing I was too impatient to wait.

Still I'm surprised there are only four Vertigo trades for the year. And this is the 3rd "Y" trade, right?

This is just for early 2004, I believe. Looks like first quarter.

Reread the title of the announcement. "EARLY 2004"
